Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An electrified vehicle includes a front axle, a rear axle, an engine, a pump, a battery, a first electric motor electrically coupled to the battery, a second electric motor electrically coupled to the battery and configured to drive at least one of the front axle or the rear axle, a first clutch positioned between the engine and the first electric motor, and a second clutch positioned between the first electric motor and the pump. With the first clutch engaged and the second clutch disengaged, the engine is configured to drive the first electric motor to generate electricity to charge the battery. With the first clutch disengaged and the second clutch engaged, the first electric motor is configured to drive the pump. With the first clutch engaged and the second clutch engaged, the engine is configured to drive the pump.

The invention claimed is: 1. An electrified vehicle comprising: a front axle; a rear axle; an engine; a pump; a battery; a first electric motor electrically coupled to the battery; a second electric motor electrically coupled to the battery, the second electric motor configured to drive at least one of the front axle or the rear axle; a first clutch positioned between the engine and the first electric motor; and a second clutch positioned between the first electric motor and the pump; wherein, with the first clutch engaged and the second clutch disengaged, the engine is configured to drive the first electric motor to generate electricity to charge the battery; wherein, with the first clutch disengaged and the second clutch engaged, the first electric motor is configured to drive the pump; and wherein, with the first clutch engaged and the second clutch engaged, the engine is configured to drive the pump. 2. The electrified vehicle of claim 1 , further comprising a gearset positioned between the first electric motor and the pump. 3. The electrified vehicle of claim 1 , further comprising a gearset positioned between the second electric motor and the at least one of the front axle or the rear axle. 4. The electrified vehicle of claim 1 , further comprising: a first gearset positioned between the first electric motor and the pump; and a second gearset positioned between the second electric motor and the at least one of the front axle or the rear axle. 5. The electrified vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the engine is positioned proximate a rear of the electrified vehicle. 6. An electrified vehicle comprising: an axle; an engine; a pump; a battery; a first electric motor electrically coupled to the battery; a second electric motor electrically coupled to the battery, the second electric motor configured to drive the axle; a first clutch positioned to couple the engine with the first electric motor; a second clutch positioned to couple the first electric motor with the pump; a first gearset positioned between the first electric motor and the pump; and a second gearset positioned between the second electric motor and the axle; wherein, with the first clutch engaged and the second clutch engaged, the engine is configured to drive the pump. 7. The electrified vehicle of claim 6 , wherein the engine is positioned proximate a rear of the electrified vehicle. 8. The electrified vehicle of claim 6 , wherein, with the first clutch engaged and the second clutch disengaged, the engine is configured to drive the first electric motor to generate electricity to charge the battery. 9. The electrified vehicle of claim 6 , wherein, with the first clutch disengaged and the second clutch engaged, the first electric motor is configured to drive the pump. 10. The electrified vehicle of claim 6 , wherein: with the first clutch engaged and the second clutch disengaged, the engine is configured to drive the first electric motor to generate electricity to charge the battery; and with the first clutch disengaged and the second clutch engaged, the first electric motor is configured to drive the pump. 11. An electrified vehicle comprising: a front axle; a rear axle; an engine; a pump; a battery; a first electric motor electrically coupled to the battery; a second electric motor electrically coupled to the battery, the second electric motor configured to drive at least one of the front axle or the rear axle; a first clutch positioned between the engine and the first electric motor; and a second clutch positioned between the first electric motor and the pump; wherein, with the first clutch engaged and the second clutch disengaged, the engine is configured to drive the first electric motor to generate electricity to charge the battery without driving the pump; wherein, with the first clutch disengaged and the second clutch engaged, the first electric motor is configured to drive the pump; and wherein, with the first clutch engaged and the second clutch engaged, the engine is configured to drive the pump. 12. The electrified vehicle of claim 11 , further comprising a gearset positioned between the first electric motor and the pump. 13. The electrified vehicle of claim 11 , further comprising a gearset positioned between the second electric motor and the at least one of the front axle or the rear axle. 14. The electrified vehicle of claim 11 , further comprising: a first gearset positioned between the first electric motor and the pump; and a second gearset positioned between the second electric motor and the at least one of the front axle or the rear axle. 15. The electrified vehicle of claim 11 , wherein the engine is positioned proximate a rear of the electrified vehicle.
