Provided is a hydrophobic silica aerogel blanket comprising holes, so that the diffusion of a surface modifier is facilitated in a blanket during a surface modification process to improve the efficiency of surface modification. Accordingly, the hydrophobic silica aerogel has not only excellent physical properties such as specific surface area and thermal conductivity, but also a controlled degree of hydrophobicity, and thus, can have high hydrophobicity.

The invention claimed is: 1. A surface hydrophobically modified hydrophobic silica aerogel blanket, comprising two or more holes having an average diameter of 0.01 mm to 3.20 mm on a surface, wherein a gap between the holes is 1.5 mm to 50.0 mm, and an aspect ratio of the cross-section of the holes is 1.50 to 5.00. 2. The aerogel blanket of claim 1 , wherein the holes are either through holes or non-through holes. 3. The aerogel blanket of claim 1 , wherein the average diameter of the holes is 0.05 to 3.05 mm. 4. The aerogel blanket of claim 1 , wherein the number of holes in a unit area of 100 cm 2 of the aerogel blanket is 5 to 10,000 holes. 5. An insulation material comprising the aerogel blanket of claim 1 .
