An insert for an arthropod trapping device. The insert comprising a substrate and a frame for supporting the substrate, where a surface of the substrate has an adhesive disposed thereon, an optional mounting bracket spaced apart from the adhesive surface of the insert and located at a first end of the insert, and an optional graspable tab extending from the frame at a second end of the insert.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. An insert comprising: a. a curved substrate having a first longitudinal centerline and a frame for supporting the substrate, wherein the curved substrate has a concave surface having an adhesive for trapping arthropods disposed thereon, wherein the frame comprises a first longitudinal side edge and a second longitudinal side edge opposite the first longitudinal side edge, the frame further comprises an upper end region and a lower end region opposite the upper end region, b. a mounting bracket spaced apart from the adhesive surface of the insert, wherein the mounting bracket extends from the first longitudinal side edge of the frame to the second longitudinal side edge of the frame and is connected to the frame between the upper end region of the frame and the lower end region of the frame, wherein the mounting bracket comprises a downwardly depending tab having a second longitudinal centerline laterally offset from the first longitudinal centerline, and c. a graspable tab extending from the frame in the upper end region; wherein the substrate of the insert and the mounting bracket define an opening in the insert. 2. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the graspable tab is substantially free of adhesive. 3. The insert of claim 2 , wherein the graspable tab is positioned along the first longitudinal centerline. 4. The insert of claim 3 , wherein the graspable tab has a surface area from 110 mm 2 to 300 mm 2 . 5. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the downwardly depending tab has a maximum width from 5 mm to 20 mm. 6. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the downwardly depending tab has a length from 10 mm to 30 mm. 7. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the second longitudinal centerline is laterally offset from the first longitudinal centerline a distance of 5 mm to 25 mm. 8. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the downwardly depending tab has a width that is less than 25% of the width of the mounting bracket. 9. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive has a surface area from 75 cm 2 to 150 cm 2 . 10. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the substrate is a polymeric film. 11. The insert of claim 10 , wherein the substrate has a thickness from 0.01 mm to 5 mm. 12. The insert of claim 11 , wherein the substrate, the adhesive, or both are transparent or translucent. 13. The insert of claim 12 , wherein the substrate, the adhesive, or both transmits greater than 80% of blue light. 14. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the frame extends at least partially around the perimeter of the insert. 15. The insert of claim 14 , wherein the frame extends around the entire perimeter of the insert. 16. The insert of claim 1 , wherein the mounting bracket and frame are integrally formed. 17. An insert comprising: a. a curved substrate having a first longitudinal centerline and a frame for supporting the substrate, wherein the curved substrate has a concave surface having an adhesive for trapping arthropods disposed thereon, wherein the substrate comprises an upper end region and a lower end region opposite the upper end region, b. a mounting bracket spaced apart from the adhesive surface of the insert, wherein the mounting bracket is connected to the frame between the upper end region of the substrate and the lower end region of the substrate, wherein the mounting bracket comprises a downwardly depending tab having a second longitudinal centerline laterally offset from the first longitudinal centerline, wherein a portion of the substrate extends between a bottom portion of the frame and the mounting bracket. 18. The insert of claim 17 , wherein the downwardly depending tab extends between the mounting bracket and the bottom portion of the frame. 19. The insert of claim 17 , wherein the downwardly depending tab comprises a first end portion joined to the mounting bracket and a second end portion opposite the first end portion, wherein the second end portion extends to the bottom portion of the frame.
