Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Long-term evolution assisted new radio initial access and mobility for 5G or other next generation networks are provided herein. A method can include transmitting, by a first network device of a wireless network and comprising a processor, a first timing synchronization signal and first acquisition information of the first network device to a mobile device. In response to the transmitting and based on a transmission received from the mobile device, a connection between the mobile device and a radio resource control of the wireless network can be facilitated. In addition, in response to the mobile device determining the location of the second timing synchronization signal based on the data indicative of the location of the second timing synchronization signal, the second network device can transmit, to the mobile device, the second timing synchronization signal and second acquisition information of the second network device.

What is claimed is: 1. A method, comprising: determining, by first network equipment, location information indicative of a location of a second synchronization signal associated with second network equipment based on a status of the first network equipment, wherein the location is one location of a group of locations comprising a first location and a second location, and wherein the determining comprises: determining, based on the status of the first network equipment being an active status, that collision between the second synchronization signal of the second network equipment and a first synchronization signal associated with the first network equipment is able to be avoided by the second synchronization signal being located in the second location due to the first synchronization signal being located in the first location; and transmitting, by the first network equipment to a device, acquisition information comprising the location information indicative of the location of the second synchronization signal associated with the second network equipment. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining of the location information and the transmitting of the acquisition information are associated with a first initial access associated with the second network equipment, wherein the status is a first status associated with the first initial access, and wherein the method further comprises: with regard to a second initial access associated with the second network equipment, determining, by the first network equipment, that a third synchronization signal associated with the second network equipment is able to occupy a third location based on a second status of the first network equipment being an inactive status, wherein the third location corresponds to the first location associated with the first synchronization signal. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the third synchronization signal is able to be located in any location of the group of locations, comprising the first location, the second location, and a third location, of a bandwidth based on the second status of the first network equipment being determined to be the inactive status. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: selecting, by the first network equipment, an offset value relative to a center frequency of the second network equipment, wherein the selecting is based on an available bandwidth of synchronization signals associated with the second network equipment; and transmitting, by the first network equipment to the device, data indicative of the center frequency and the offset value. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the selecting of the offset value comprises selecting the offset value based on a frequency-domain granularity or a time-domain granularity of the offset value. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first network equipment employs a first radio access technology, wherein the second network equipment employs a second radio access technology that is different from the first radio access technology, and wherein the first network equipment and the second network equipment operate on a same frequency band. 7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the first radio access technology is a Long Term Evolution technology, and wherein the second radio access technology is a fifth generation technology. 8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the first network equipment and the second network equipment are associated with a communication network, and wherein the method further comprises: determining, by the first network equipment, a synchronization search pattern that comprises a bandwidth and an increment pattern based on the first radio access technology being active within the communication network, wherein the location of the second synchronization signal is within the bandwidth, wherein a distance between two locations is determined based on the bandwidth and the increment, and wherein at least one location of the two locations is associated with a search for the second synchronization signal; and transmitting, by the first network equipment to the device, data indicative of the synchronization search pattern that comprises the bandwidth and the increment. 9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the first network equipment and the second network equipment are associated with a communication network, and wherein the method further comprises: determining, by the first network equipment, a synchronization search pattern that comprises a center-to-edge pattern based on the first radio access technology being active within the communication network; and transmitting, by the first network equipment to the device, data indicative of the synchronization search pattern that comprises the center-to-edge pattern. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting comprises transmitting the first synchronization signal and the acquisition information to the device. 11. A system, comprising: a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising: determining location data indicative of a location of a second synchronization signal associated with second network equipment based on an activity status of first network equipment, wherein, based on the activity status of the first network equipment being an active status that results in a first synchronization signal associated with the first network equipment being in a first location of a group of locations, avoidance of a collision between the second synchronization signal and the first synchronization signal is facilitated by the second synchronization signal being located in a second location of the group of locations; and communicating, to a user equipment, acquisition data comprising the location data indicative of the location of the second synchronization signal associated with the second network equipment. 12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the determining of the location data and the communicating of the acquisition data are associated with a first initial access associated with the second network equipment, wherein the activity status is a first activity status associated with the first initial access, and wherein the operations further comprise: with regard to a second initial access associated with the second network equipment, determining, based on a second activity status of the first network equipment being an inactive status, that a third synchronization signal of the second network equipment is able to occupy a third location, wherein the third location corresponds to the first location associated with the first synchronization signal. 13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise: selecting an offset value relative to a center frequency of the second network equipment, wherein the selecting is based on an available bandwidth of synchronization signals associated with the second network equipment, and wherein the synchronization signals comprise the second synchronization signal; and communicating, to the user equipment, data indicative of the center frequency and the offset value. 14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the selecting of the offset value comprises selecting the offset value based on a frequency-domain granularity or a time-domain granularity of the offset value. 15. The system of claim 11 , wherein the communicating comprises communicating the first synchronization signal and the acquisition data to the user equipment. 16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the communicating of the first synchronization signal and the acquisi
