What is claimed is: 1. A device, comprising: an access sheath comprising a tubular member configured for insertion within a body cavity; and an inflatable member covering a distal end of the access sheath and extending along an outer surface of the access sheath toward a proximal end of the access sheath, the inflatable member sealed to the access sheath at the proximal end and including a distal expansion portion adjacent to the distal end of the access sheath and an intermediate expansion portion positioned between the distal end of the access sheath and the proximal end of the access sheath, the inflatable member configured to expand from a deflated state to an inflated state upon introduction of a fluid medium, wherein in the inflated state the distal expansion portion defines an enclosed chamber that is isolated from the surrounding body cavity and an outer wall of the distal expansion portion is configured to contact and form a seal with a tissue of the body cavity that includes a target area, wherein the intermediate expansion portion is configured to form a seal with an entry to the body cavity, and wherein the seal around the target area is maintained when a portion of the inflatable member covering the target area is breached to create an opening in the inflatable member. 2. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a treatment device configured to be inserted through the access sheath and into the inflatable member, the treatment device operable to breach the portion of the inflatable member covering the target area. 3. The device of claim 2 , wherein the treatment device comprises a tissue removal device. 4. The device of claim 3 , wherein the tissue removal device is operable to resect the exposed target area of the tissue. 5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the inflatable member comprises a biocompatible member. 6. The device of claim 5 , wherein the biocompatible member is fabricated from one or more of chitosan, cellulose, collagen, elastin, gelatin, keratin, polyvinyl alcohol, and polyethylene glycol. 7. The device of claim 1 , wherein the inflatable member is one of transparent and translucent in the inflated state. 8. The device of claim 1 , further comprising an endoscope having a working channel, the endoscope configured to be positioned through the access sheath. 9. The device of claim 8 , wherein the endoscope is a hysteroscope. 10. The device of claim 1 , further comprising one or more fluid/gas runners extending along an outer surface of the access sheath and in communication with the inflatable member. 11. The device of claim 1 , further comprising: a resection device configured for insertion through the access sheath and into the enclosed chamber defined by the inflatable member, the resection device operable to breach the portion of the enclosed chamber covering the target area. 12. The device of claim 11 , wherein the inflatable member comprises a biocompatible member. 13. The device of claim 12 , wherein the biocompatible member is fabricated from a bioresorbable material. 14. The device of claim 11 , wherein the inflatable member is one of transparent and translucent in the inflated state. 15. A device, comprising: an access sheath comprising a tubular member configured for insertion within a body cavity; and an inflatable member covering a distal end of the access sheath and extending along an outer surface of the access sheath toward a proximal end of the access sheath, the inflatable member sealed to the access sheath at the proximal end and including a distal expansion portion adjacent to the distal end of the access sheath and an intermediate expansion portion positioned between the distal end of the access sheath and the proximal end of the access sheath, the inflatable member configured to expand from a deflated state to an inflated state upon introduction of a fluid medium, wherein in the inflated state the distal expansion portion defines an enclosed chamber that is isolated from the surrounding body cavity and an outer wall of the distal expansion portion is configured to contact and form a seal with a tissue of the body cavity that includes a target area, wherein the intermediate expansion portion is configured to form a seal with an entry to the body cavity, and wherein the seal around the target area is maintained when a portion of the inflatable member covering the target area is breached from an interior of the chamber to create an opening in the inflatable member.
