Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method for manufacturing a preform for producing a part made of composite material with an unchangeable final shape includes supplying a triaxial non-woven textile comprising a layer of fibers orientated in a first direction, a layer of fibers orientated in a second direction, a layer of fibers orientated in a third direction, and seams extending parallel to each other and forming sheaths for the circumferential fibers, arranging the textile on an element of unchangeable shape by placing the seams parallel to the circumferential direction of the element, and sliding the circumferential fibers into the sheaths so that the textile is in continuous contact with the element.

What is claimed is: 1. A manufacturing method for manufacturing a preform for the manufacture of a part made of a composite material of a revolution or quasi-revolution non-developable final shape type, having a longitudinal axis, the manufacturing method comprising: a) providing a tri-axial non-woven fabric comprising: a first layer comprising circumferential fibers oriented in a first direction, a second layer comprising fibers, oriented in a second direction, a third layer comprising fibers, oriented in a third direction, and seams binding the fibers of the first layer, the second layer and third layer, the seams extending parallel to each other and forming sheaths for the circumferential fibers, b) disposing the tri-axial non-woven fabric on or in a non-developable shape element, either identical to a non-developable final shape, or of reduced dimensions compared to the non-developable final shape, by placing the seams parallel to a circumferential direction of the non-developable shape element, and c) sliding the circumferential fibers in the sheaths formed by the seams, so that the tri-axial non-woven fabric is in continuous contact with the non-developable shape element and is adapted to a non-developable shape of the non-developable shape element to manufacture the preform. 2. The manufacturing method according to claim 1 , wherein c) is carried out by tensioning the circumferential fibers, so as to slide the circumferential fibers in the sheaths formed by the seams and unraveling the fibers of the second layer and the third layer. 3. The manufacturing method according to claim 1 , wherein a pressure is produced on the tri-axial non-woven fabric in the direction of the non-developable shape element, by a bar. 4. The manufacturing method according to claim 1 , wherein during c) the fibers of the second layer and the third layer are put in tension. 5. The manufacturing method according to claim 1 , wherein the non-developable shape element is a convex shape element. 6. The manufacturing method according to claim 1 , wherein the non-developable shape element is a concave shape element. 7. The manufacturing method according to claim 1 , wherein the non-developable shape element has a reduced circumference with respect to the part of the non-developable final shape. 8. The manufacturing method according to claim 1 , wherein the non-developable shape element has a circumference identical to the part of the non-developable final shape.
