A method for forming grooves in a board element. An exemplary method includes arranging the board element in contact with a support member, and forming at least one groove in a rear side of the board element by removing material, such as chips, from the board element by rotating one or more cutting devices including a plurality of tooth elements configured to rotate around a rotational axis. A method further includes counteracting, such as preventing, a displacement of the board element away from the support member during forming of the at least one groove, wherein the counteracting, such as preventing, includes arranging at least a portion of the board element between an obstruction element and the support member.

The invention claimed is: 1. A panel comprising at least one layer comprising a thermoplastic material and a filler, the panel comprising a plurality of grooves in a rear side of the panel, wherein said plurality of grooves comprise a first groove arrangement and a second groove arrangement, wherein a plurality of first grooves has the first groove arrangement and at least one second groove has the second groove arrangement, the first groove arrangement having a same first groove depth and the second groove arrangement having a same second groove depth, wherein the second groove depth is different from the first groove depth, wherein the plurality of first grooves are spaced from one another along a longitudinal direction of the panel, and the plurality of first grooves is a cluster spaced from all of the at least one second groove along the longitudinal direction of the panel. 2. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein a plurality of second grooves have the second groove arrangement. 3. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein a maximal groove depth of the plurality of grooves is at least 0.2 times a thickness of the board element. 4. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein said plurality of grooves comprise at least one third groove with a third groove arrangement, the third groove arrangement having a same third groove depth, the first and second groove depths being different from the third groove depth. 5. The panel according to claim 4 , wherein the first groove depth and/or the second groove depth is/are smaller than the third groove depth, grooves with the first and/or the second groove arrangement being disposed adjacent to an edge portion of the panel. 6. The panel according to claim 1 , the first groove arrangement having a first groove width and the second groove arrangement having a second groove width, wherein the first and second groove widths are different from each other. 7. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein at least one pair of grooves is provided in an offset relation in a first and/or a second horizontal direction of the panel. 8. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of grooves are provided in an interior of the rear side being spaced from a pair of opposite edge portions. 9. The panel according to claim 1 , comprising a core layer and a decorative layer and/or a wear layer, the plurality of grooves being provided in the core layer only. 10. The panel according to claim 1 , further comprising a backing layer and/or a cover layer. 11. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein at least one groove comprises a bevel disposed between a groove wall and said rear side. 12. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein end portions of the plurality of grooves are disposed along a non-linear curve extending in a horizontal plane provided along the rear side. 13. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein the thermoplastic material comprises polyvinyl chloride, PVC, and the filler comprises a mineral material. 14. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one layer is extruded or coextruded. 15. The panel according to claim 1 , further comprising a locking system on a first pair and a second pair of opposite edge portions of the panel, wherein the grooves are provided inwardly of the locking system on the first and/or second pair. 16. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of grooves comprise a substantially vertical groove wall. 17. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein bottom portions of the plurality of grooves are disposed along a continuous curve. 18. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein a linking portion joining the plurality of grooves is spaced from the rear side, the groove depths of at least the end portions of the grooves varying continuously. 19. The panel according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second groove depth is a maximal groove depth from a horizontal plane provided along the rear side to an innermost portion of the respective groove. 20. A panel comprising at least one layer comprising a thermoplastic material and a filler, the panel comprising a plurality of grooves in a rear side of the panel, wherein said plurality of grooves comprise a first groove arrangement and a second groove arrangement, at least one first groove having the first groove arrangement, at least one second groove having the second groove arrangement comprising at least one groove, the first groove arrangement having a same first groove depth and the second groove arrangement having a same second groove depth, wherein the second groove depth is different from the first groove depth, wherein the plurality of grooves includes a deepest groove at an inner portion of the panel along a first or second direction of the panel, and a shallowest groove at an outer portion along the first or second direction of the panel, the deepest groove having a depth that is a maximum depth amongst the depths of the plurality of grooves, the shallowest groove having a depth that is a minimum depth amongst the depths of the plurality of grooves and that is less than the depth of the deepest groove.
