Methods of employing corrosion inhibitors with oxidizing and/or non-oxidizing biocides, such as peroxycarboxylic acids, to provide corrosion protected compositions are disclosed. Various corrosion inhibitors further provide biocidal efficacy in addition to the corrosion protection providing further benefits for application of use. Methods of employing corrosion protected biocide compositions, such as peroxycarboxylic acid compositions, for corrosion protection are particularly well suited for treating fluids intended to flow through pipes, namely in the energy industry, water and paper industries, etc. Methods providing suitable corrosion protection in comparison to untreated systems and corrosion protected systems using conventional corrosion inhibitors, such as quaternary amines and imidazolines commonly used in the industry, are disclosed.

What is claimed is: 1. A two-part corrosion inhibited aqueous article comprising: a first part premix comprising a C1-C22 carboxylic acid and a corrosion inhibitor, wherein the corrosion inhibitor is an alkyl pyridinium salt, cetyl pyridinium salt, polyesteramide, dimethicone, imidazole derivative, sulphonamide or a combination thereof; and a second part comprising a hydrogen peroxide source, wherein the first part premix and the second part are compbined to generate a C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid composition which provides a treated surface or system with a corrosion rate of less than about 4 mils per year (MPY). 2. The article of claim 1 , wherein a C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid is generated in situ from the first part premix and the second part. 3. The article of claim 2 , wherein the C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid is generated in an amount from about 0.5 ppm to about 50,000 ppm. 4. The article of claim 2 , wherein the C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid comprises peroxyformic acid. 5. The article of claim 1 , wherein the corrosion inhibitor is a cetyl pyridinium salt. 6. The article of claim 1 , wherein the first part premix is shelf-stable for a period of at least 1 month. 7. The article of claim 1 , wherein the first part premix is shelf-stable for a period of at least 6 months. 8. The article of claim 1 , wherein the C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid composition is shelf-stable for a period of at least 1 month. 9. The article of claim 1 , wherein the C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid composition is shelf-stable for a period of at least 6 months. 10. The article of claim 1 , wherein the first part premix comprises formic acid and a corrosion inhibitor. 11. The article of claim 1 , wherein the C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid composition has a pH of below 12. 12. The article of claim 1 , wherein the C1-C22 peroxycarboxylic acid composition has a pH of below 11. 13. The article of claim 1 , wherein the first part premix comprises from about 1 wt-% to about 99 wt-% of the C1-C22 carboxylic acid and from about 1 wt-% to about 99 wt-% of the corrosion inhibitor. 14. The article of claim 13 , wherein the first part premix comprises from about 10 wt-% to about 90 wt-% of the C1-C22 carboxylic acid and from about 10 wt-% to about 90 wt-% of the corrosion inhibitor. 15. The article of claim 13 , wherein the first part premix comprises from about 20 wt-% to about 80 wt-% of the C1-C22 carboxylic acid and from about 20 wt-% to about 80 wt-% of the corrosion inhibitor. 16.
