We claim: 1. A user equipment (UE), comprising: a radio; and a processor operably coupled to the radio and configured to cause the UE to: receive, from a second device, one or more items of match information indicating that two wireless earphones placed in a smart storage case differ; determine, based on the one or more items of match information, that the two wireless earphones are mismatched; and provide, based on the determination that the two wireless earphones are mismatched, a mismatch notification. 2. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more items of match information comprise a product identifier or a generation associated with each of the two wireless earphones. 3. The UE of claim 2 , wherein the second device is one of the two wireless earphones and comprises the wireless earphone of a more recent product generation of the two wireless earphones. 4. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more items of match information comprise a shared random public address of the two wireless earphones. 5. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the notification is displayed on a display of the UE. 6. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the second device is the smart storage case. 7. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the notification comprises an audio notification played on a speaker of the UE. 8. An apparatus, comprising: a processor configured to cause a first device to: receive, from a second device, one or more items of match information indicating that two wireless earphones placed in a smart storage case differ; determine, based on the one or more items of match information, that the two wireless earphones are mismatched; and provide, based on the determination that the two wireless earphones are mismatched, a mismatch notification. 9. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the one or more items of match information comprise a product identifier or a generation associated with each of the two wireless earphones. 10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the second device one of the two wireless earphones and comprises the wireless earphone of a more recent product generation of the two wireless earphones. 11. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the one or more items of match information comprise a shared random public address of the two wireless earphones. 12. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the one or more items of match information comprises information that the two wireless earphones have different users or owners. 13. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the second device is the smart storage case. 14. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the notification comprises an audio notification played on a speaker of the first device. 15. A method, comprising: at a first device: receiving, from a second device, one or more items of match information indicating that two wireless earphones placed in a smart storage case differ; determining, based on the one or more items of match information, that the two wireless earphones are mismatched; and generating, based on the determination that the two wireless earphones are mismatched, a mismatch notification. 16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the one or more items of match information comprise a product identifier or a generation associated with each of the two wireless earphones. 17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the second device one of the two wireless earphones and comprises the wireless earphone of a more recent product generation of the two wireless earphones. 18. The method of claim 15 , wherein the one or more items of match information comprise a shared random public address of the two wireless earphones. 19. The method of claim 15 , wherein the notification is displayed on a display of the first device. 20. The method of claim 15 , wherein the second device is the smart storage case.
