What is claimed: 1. A method comprising: at an electronic device in communication with a display device and one or more input devices: while displaying, via the display device, first content, receiving, via the one or more input devices, a first input corresponding to a request to skip a respective amount of the first content corresponding to a first playback position in the first content; and in response to receiving the first input: skipping through at least a portion of the first content in accordance with the first input; and after skipping through at least the portion of the first content in accordance with the first input: in accordance with a determination that the respective amount of the first content is greater than a threshold amount:  automatically ceasing the skipping through the first content; and  setting a current playback position in the first content to be a second playback position, different from the first playback position; and in accordance with a determination that the respective amount of the first content is less than the threshold amount, setting the current playback position in the first content to be the first playback position. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second playback position is an earlier playback position than the first playback position. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second playback position corresponding to a beginning of a first advertisement in the first content. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the skipping through the at least the portion of the first content includes skipping the first advertisement and a second advertisement, different from the first advertisement, wherein the second advertisement is earlier in the first content than the first advertisement. 5. The method of claim 3 , wherein the first advertisement is a most recently skipped advertisement. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the threshold amount is predetermined. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the threshold amount is variable based on an action of a user of the electronic device. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the threshold amount is a number of advertisements. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the threshold amount is a duration of advertisements. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the threshold amount is a duration of the first content. 11. An electronic device, comprising: one or more processors; memory; and one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for: while displaying, via a display device, first content, receiving, via one or more input devices, a first input corresponding to a request to skip a respective amount of the first content corresponding to a first playback position in the first content; and in response to receiving the first input: skipping through at least a portion of the first content in accordance with the first input; and after skipping through at least the portion of the first content in accordance with the first input: in accordance with a determination that the respective amount of the first content is greater than a threshold amount: automatically ceasing the skipping through the first content; and setting a current playback position in the first content to be a second playback position, different from the first playback position, and in accordance with a determination that the respective amount of the first content is less than the threshold amount, setting the current playback position in the first content to be the first playback position. 12. The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the second playback position is an earlier playback position than the first playback position. 13. The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the second playback position corresponding to a beginning of a first advertisement in the first content. 14. The electronic device of claim 13 , wherein the skipping through the at least the portion of the first content includes skipping the first advertisement and a second advertisement, different from the first advertisement, wherein the second advertisement is earlier in the first content than the first advertisement. 15. The electronic device of claim 13 wherein the first advertisement is a most recently skipped advertisement. 16. The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the threshold amount is predetermined. 17. The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the threshold amount is variable based on an action of a user of the electronic device. 18. The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the threshold amount is a number of advertisements. 19. The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the threshold amount is a duration of advertisements. 20. The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the threshold amount is a duration of the first content. 21. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to perform a method comprising: while displaying, via a display device, first content, receiving, via one or more input devices, a first input corresponding to a request to skip a respective amount of the first content corresponding to a first playback position in the first content; and in response to receiving the first input: skipping through at least a portion of the first content in accordance with the first input; and after skipping through at least the portion of the first content in accordance with the first input: in accordance with a determination that the respective amount of the first content is greater than a threshold amount: automatically ceasing the skipping through the first content; and setting a current playback position in the first content to be a second playback position, different from the first playback position, and in accordance with a determination that the respective amount of the first content is less than the threshold amount, setting the current playback position in the first content to be the first playback position. 22. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the second playback position is an earlier playback position than the first playback position. 23. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the second playback position corresponding to a beginning of a first advertisement in the first content. 24. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the skipping through the at least the portion of the first content includes skipping the first advertisement and a second advertisement, different from the first advertisement, wherein the second advertisement is earlier in the first content than the first advertisement. 25. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the first advertisement is a most recently skipped advertisement. 26. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the threshold amount is predetermined. 27. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the threshold amount is variable based on an action of a user of the electronic device. 28.
