Methods and systems are disclosed for displaying an augmented reality virtual object on a multimedia device. One method comprises detecting, in an augmented reality environment displayed using a first device, a virtual object; detecting, within the augmented reality environment, a second device, the second device comprising a physical multimedia device; and generating, at the second device, a display comprising a representation of the virtual object.

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: identifying, by a content retrieval platform, a virtual object in an augmented reality environment; determining, by the content retrieval platform, an object identifier associated with the virtual object; retrieving, by the content retrieval platform, a representation of the virtual object based on the object identifier; and casting, by the content retrieval platform, the representation of the virtual object to a multimedia device. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the representation includes a 3D model, a 2D image, a schematic diagram, a photographic image, or an icon. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: differentiating between the virtual object and a background display. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the multimedia device is a television, and the augmented reality environment is displayed via a user device. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein retrieving the representation comprises retrieving the representation from a database maintained by the content retrieval platform. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein retrieving the representation comprises retrieving the representation from a database maintained by a merchant system. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the augmented reality environment displays virtual objects from different merchant systems. 8. A content retrieval platform comprising: a memory configured to store instructions; and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising: identifying a virtual object in an augmented reality environment; determining an object identifier associated with the virtual object; retrieving a representation of the virtual object based on the object identifier; and casting the representation of the virtual object to a multimedia device. 9. The content retrieval platform of claim 8 , wherein the representation includes a 3D model, a 2D image, a schematic diagram, a photographic image, or an icon. 10. The content retrieval platform of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise: differentiating between the virtual object and a background display. 11. The content retrieval platform of claim 8 , wherein the multimedia device is a television, and the augmented reality environment is displayed via a user device. 12. The content retrieval platform of claim 8 , wherein retrieving the representation comprises retrieving the representation from a database maintained by the content retrieval platform. 13. The content retrieval platform of claim 8 , wherein retrieving the representation comprises retrieving the representation from a database maintained by a merchant system. 14. The content retrieval platform of claim 8 , wherein the augmented reality environment displays virtual objects from different merchant systems. 15. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed by one or more processors of a content retrieval platform, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: identifying a virtual object in an augmented reality environment; determining an object identifier associated with the virtual object; retrieving a representation of the virtual object based on the object identifier; and casting the representation of the virtual object to a multimedia device. 16. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the representation includes a 3D model, a 2D image, a schematic diagram, a photographic image, or an icon. 17. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise: differentiating between the virtual object and a background display. 18. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the multimedia device is a television, and the augmented reality environment is displayed via a user device. 19. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein retrieving the representation comprises retrieving the representation from a database maintained by the content retrieval platform. 20. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein retrieving the representation comprises retrieving the representation from a database maintained by a merchant system.
