Official abstract text for this publication.
An information processing apparatus includes: a processor with variable rated power; and a power control unit which controls power consumption of the processor. When processing based on a specific application as an application program to implement a specific function is executed in foreground, the power control unit sets rated power corresponding to at least the specific function.

What is claimed is: 1. An information processing apparatus comprising: a processor connected to a camera to input and output predetermined information and whose rated power is variable; and a power control unit that controls power consumption of the processor, wherein upon determining that execution of a unified communication application has started when the camera is working, the power control unit sets a rated power of the processor to be higher than when the camera is not working. 2. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein when power is not supplied from an external power supply, the power control unit sets the rated power corresponding to the unified communication application. 3. The information processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein when setting the rated power corresponding to the unified communication application, the power control unit: further sets a power limit corresponding to the unified communication application, and controls the power consumption of the processor such that a term moving average value of the power consumption of the processor does not exceed the power limit. 4. The information processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein when setting the rated power corresponding to the unified communication application, the power control unit: further sets maximum instantaneous power corresponding to the unified communication application, and controls the power consumption of the processor such that an instantaneous value of the power consumption of the processor does not exceed the maximum instantaneous power. 5. The information processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the rated power corresponding to the unified communication application is a value so determined that power consumption related to the unified communication application falls within a range of power consumption values changing according to changes in set power to the processor. 6. A control method for an information processing apparatus including a processor connected to a camera to input and output predetermined information and whose rated power is variable, the control method comprising: controlling, with the information processing apparatus, power consumption of the processor; and upon determining that execution of a unified communication application has started when the camera is working, setting a rated power of the processor to be higher than when the camera is not working.
