Among other things, we describe a system that includes a first medical device for treating a patient at an emergency care scene, the first medical device including a processor and a memory configured to detect a request for a connection between the first medical device and a second medical device for treating the patient at the emergency care scene, the request for connection including an identifier of the second medical device, responsive to receiving the request for connection, enabling a wireless communication channel to be established between the first medical device and the second medical device based on the identifier of the second medical device and an identifier of the first medical device; and enabling transmission and/or exchange of patient data between the first medical device and the second medical device via the wireless communication channel. Such communications with more than two devices may also be possible.

What is claimed is: 1. A system for use in assisting a user during a medical event, the system comprising: a patient monitor; and a mobile device including: a camera; at least one processor; and a non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising: obtaining, from the camera, an image of a visual code presented on the patient monitor; extracting an identifier associated with the patient monitor from the obtained image; and establishing a communication channel with the patient monitor using the extracted identifier, wherein the communication channel is configured to use proximate tokens between the patient monitor and the mobile device, wherein the proximate tokens for determining spatial localization is mutually known by the patient monitor and the mobile device without requiring transmission to the other device, and wherein the proximate tokens are used in a key-exchange protocol. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the communication channel includes at least one of the following: a new communication channel between the patient monitor and the mobile device, a communication channel previously established by the patient monitor, a communication channel previously established by the mobile device, and any combination thereof. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the communication channel is a secure communication channel. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the obtaining comprises capturing the image of the visual code using the camera. 5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the extracting comprises: performing, using the at least one processor, an image recognition of the image captured by the camera; and extracting, using the at least one processor, the identifier based on the performed image recognition. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the establishing comprises: requesting a connection to the patient monitor; executing a mutual authentication with the patient monitor based at least in part on the identifier; and establishing the communication channel with the patient monitor. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the visual code comprises at least one of the following: a bar code, a two-dimensional bar code, a QR-code, and any combination thereof. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the patient monitor comprises one or more physiological sensors configured to obtain physiological data from a patient, the patient monitor including a visual code encoding information for establishing the communication channel. 9. The system of claim 8 , further comprising receiving, using the at least one processor, a treatment data including at least one of the following: data indicative of a shock delivered to the patient, medication administered to the patient, and any combination thereof. 10. The system of claim 9 , further comprising receiving, using the at least one processor, one or more performance parameters including at least one of the following: a rate of chest compressions delivered to the patient, a depth of chest compressions delivered to the patient, a duration of compressions delivered to the patient, a rate of ventilation flow to the patient, a volume of ventilation flow to the patient, and any combination thereof. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the physiological data comprises one or more of an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal of the patient, a blood pressure of the patient, end tidal carbon dioxide of the patient, pulse oximetry of the patient, a temperature of the patient, a respiration rate of the patient, a blood oxygen level of the patient, a pulmonary function of the patient, and a blood glucose level of the patient. 12. The system of claim 11 , wherein at least one of the treatment data, the one or more performance parameters, and the physiological data are received via the communication channel. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the operations further comprise: in response to exchanging at least one of the treatment data, the one or more performance parameters, and the physiological data, coordinating chest compression prompting with defibrillation. 14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the patient monitor is configured to measure at least one of environmental information, ambient temperature, patient location, air pressure, motion information, and audio information. 15. The system of claim 8 , wherein the patient monitor comprises at least one of a defibrillator, a ventilator, a wearable defibrillator, and a wearable monitor. 16. The system of claim 8 , wherein the patient monitor comprises an accelerometer configured to measure compression parameters comprising one or more of a rate, a depth and a duration of chest compressions. 17. The system of claim 8 , further comprising receiving, using the at least one processor, a patient data comprising one or more of (i) a treatment data comprising ECG signals of the patient, or (ii) a patient information, wherein the patient data is received via the communication channel. 18. The system of claim 1 , wherein the communication channel includes at least one of the following: Bluetooth Low Energy, Near Field Communication, ZigBee, a wireless communication channel, and any combination thereof. 19. The system of claim 1 , wherein the communication channel with the patient monitor has an effective range greater than 20 cm. 20. The system of claim 1 , wherein the communication channel is further configured to use encryption. 21. The system of claim 1 , wherein the proximate tokens comprise random values input into the key-exchange protocol. 22. The system of claim 1 , wherein the proximate tokens are based on an occurrence of an event related to a visual identifier. 23. The system of claim 22 , wherein the event comprises at least one of a time of the occurrence, an elapsed time from the occurrence, a contact pressure, a time of release from contact, a velocity of release from contact, a velocity of detected motion, a shape of a path of a gestural motion, a velocity of movement of an object in an image. 24. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to detect a request for disconnection based on the visual code. 25. A patient monitor for use in assisting a user during a medical event comprising: at least one processor; and a non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising: receiving from a mobile device, a request to establish a communication channel with the mobile device, the request being associated with an identifier extracted from an image of a visual code; and establishing the communication channel with the mobile device using the extracted identifier, wherein the communication channel is configured to use proximate tokens between the patient monitor and the mobile device, wherein the proximate tokens for determining spatial localization is mutually known by the patient monitor and the mobile device without requiring transmission to the other device, and wherein the proximate tokens are used in a key-exchange protocol. 26. The patient monitor of claim 25 , wherein the identifier identifies the patient monitor. 27.
