Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An exemplary method includes accessing information associated with a power supply connection between a plurality of power distribution units and a plurality of power converters of a data center appliance, determining, based on the information, a current power connection topology of the plurality of power converters of the data center appliance with respect to the plurality of power distribution units, analyzing the current power connection topology to determine whether the current power connection topology satisfies predefined operating parameters for the data center appliance and the plurality of power distribution units, and performing, based on the analyzing of the current power connection topology, an action associated with the power supply connection between the plurality of power converters and the plurality of power distribution units.

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: accessing information associated with a power supply connection between a plurality of power distribution units and a plurality of power converters of a data center appliance; determining, based on the information, a current power connection topology of the plurality of power converters of the data center appliance with respect to the plurality of power distribution units; analyzing the current power connection topology to determine whether the current power connection topology satisfies predefined operating parameters for the data center appliance and the plurality of power distribution units; and performing, based on the analyzing of the current power connection topology, an action associated with the power supply connection between the plurality of power converters and the plurality of power distribution units, wherein the information associated with the power supply connection is accessed only from a power distribution unit side of a data center. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is communicated, at least in part, by way of power cords connecting the plurality of power converters to the plurality of power distribution units. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the accessing of the information includes continuously monitoring the information during operation of the data center appliance. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the accessing of the information includes periodically monitoring the information during operation of the data center appliance. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the accessing of the information includes: accessing at least some of the information from a controller of the data center appliance; and accessing at least some of the information from a controller of each of the plurality of power distribution units. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein: the plurality of power distribution units includes a plurality of power connection sockets; each power connection socket included in the plurality of power connection sockets is assigned a unique socket identifier; and each power converter included in the plurality of power converters is assigned a unique power converter identifier. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the performing of the action includes providing a notification indicating that the current power connection topology satisfies the predefined operating parameters. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the performing of the action includes providing a notification that instructs a user to modify the current power connection topology. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein: the plurality of power distribution units includes a first power distribution unit and a second power distribution unit; the first power distribution unit includes a first plurality of power connection sockets; the second power distribution unit includes a second plurality of power connection sockets; a power cord is connected at a first end to a power converter included in the plurality of power converters and at a second end to a power connection socket included in the first plurality of power connection sockets; and the notification instructs the user to change the power cord from being connected at the second end to the power connection socket included in the first plurality of power connection sockets to being connected at the second end to an additional power connection socket included in the second plurality of power connection sockets. 10. The method of claim 8 , wherein: the plurality of power distribution units includes a first power distribution unit and a second power distribution unit; the first power distribution unit includes a first plurality of power connection sockets; the second power distribution unit includes a second plurality of power connection sockets; a power cord is connected at a first end to a power converter included in the plurality of power converters and at a second end to a power connection socket included in the first plurality of power connection sockets; and the notification instructs the user to change the power cord from being connected at the second end to the power connection socket included in the first plurality of power connection sockets to being connected at the second end to an additional power connection socket included in the first plurality of power connection sockets. 11. The method of claim 10 , wherein: the power connection socket included in the first plurality of power connection sockets is configured to provide power having a first phase; and the additional power connection socket included in the first plurality of power connection sockets is configured to provide power having a second phase that is different than the first phase. 12. A system comprising: a memory storing instructions; and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the memory and configured to execute the instructions to perform a process comprising: accessing information associated with a power supply connection between a plurality of power distribution units and a plurality of power converters of a data center appliance; determining, based on the information, a current power connection topology of the plurality of power converters of the data center appliance with respect to the plurality of power distribution units; analyzing the current power connection topology to determine whether the current power connection topology satisfies predefined operating parameters for the data center appliance and the plurality of power distribution units; and performing, based on the analyzing of the current power connection topology, an action associated with the power supply connection between the plurality of power converters and the plurality of power distribution units, wherein the information associated with the power supply connection is accessed only from a power distribution unit side of a data center. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the information is communicated, at least in part, by way of power cords connecting the plurality of power converters to the plurality of plurality of power distribution units. 14. The system of claim 12 , wherein the performing of the action includes providing a notification that instructs a user to modify the current power connection topology. 15.
