Official abstract text for this publication.
A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for performing a data center connectivity management operation. The connectivity management operation includes: establishing a secure communication channel between a connectivity management system client and a connectivity management system; exchanging information between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system via the secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system, the information including a provisioning request, the provisioning request being generated by the baseboard management controller; and, providing provisioning information to the data center asset via the secure communication channel.

What is claimed is: 1. A computer-implementable method for performing a data center connectivity management operation, comprising: providing a data center asset with a baseboard management controller; providing the baseboard management controller with a connectivity management system client; establishing a secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and a connectivity management system; exchanging information between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system via the secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system, the information including a provisioning request, the provisioning request being generated by the baseboard management controller; and, providing provisioning information to the data center asset via the secure communication channel. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein: the baseboard management controller includes an asset onboarding module. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein: the baseboard management controller includes one or more data center asset application programming interfaces (APIs). 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: provisioning at least one of the data center asset and another data center asset using the provisioning information. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein: the connectivity management system client interacts with the baseboard management controller when performing the provisioning. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein: the connectivity management system client is provided to the baseboard management controller when the data center asset is manufactured. 7. A system comprising: a processor; a data bus coupled to the processor; a baseboard management controller; a connectivity management system client; and, a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium embodying computer program code, the non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium being coupled to the data bus, the computer program code interacting with a plurality of computer operations and comprising instructions executable by the processor and configured for: establishing a secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and a connectivity management system; exchanging information between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system via the secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system, the information including a provisioning request, the provisioning request being generated by the baseboard management controller; and, providing provisioning information to a data center asset via the secure communication channel. 8. The system of claim 7 , wherein: the baseboard management controller includes an asset onboarding module. 9. The system of claim 7 , wherein: the baseboard management controller includes one or more data center asset application programming interfaces (APIs). 10. The system of claim 7 , wherein: provisioning at least one of the data center asset and another data center asset using the provisioning information. 11. The system of claim 8 , wherein: the connectivity management system client interacts with the baseboard management controller when performing the provisioning. 12. The system of claim 7 , wherein: the connectivity management system client is provided to the baseboard management controller when the data center asset is manufactured. 13. A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium embodying computer program code, the computer program code comprising computer executable instructions configured for: providing a data center asset with a baseboard management controller; providing the baseboard management controller with a connectivity management system client; establishing a secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and a connectivity management system; exchanging information between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system via the secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system, the information including a provisioning request, the provisioning request being generated by the baseboard management controller; and, providing provisioning information to the data center asset via the secure communication channel. 14. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein: the baseboard management controller includes an asset onboarding module. 15. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein: the baseboard management controller includes one or more data center asset application programming interfaces (APIs). 16. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein: provisioning at least one of the data center asset and another data center asset using the provisioning information. 17. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein: the connectivity management system client interacts with the baseboard management controller when performing the provisioning. 18. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein: the connectivity management system client is provided to the baseboard management controller when the data center asset is manufactured. 19. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein: the computer executable instructions are deployable to a client system from a server system at a remote location. 20. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein: the computer executable instructions are provided by a service provider to a user on an on-demand basis.
