Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Provided is an antistatic silicone rubber composition. The composition comprises at least one lithium compound selected from the group consisting of a lithium amide, lithium silylamide, lithium alkyl phosphate salt, lithium phenoxide, lithium sulfate and a lithium permanganate, in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 15 mass % of the composition. In general, the composition may comprise: (A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule; (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst; and (D) the at least one lithium compound as described above. The composition generally exhibits good curability, and cures to form a silicone rubber exhibiting excellent antistatic properties.

The invention claimed is: 1. An antistatic silicone rubber composition comprising at least one lithium compound selected from the group consisting of a lithium amide, a lithium silylamide, and a lithium alkyl phosphate salt, in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 15 mass % of the composition; i) wherein the lithium amide is represented by the general formula: LiNR 1 2 wherein R 1 are the same or different alkyl groups having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; ii) wherein the lithium silylamide is represented by the general formula: LiN(SiR 2 3 ) 2 wherein R 2 are the same or different alkyl groups having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and iii) wherein the lithium alkyl phosphate salt is represented by the general formula: LiOP(O)(OR 3 ) 2 wherein R 3 are the same or different alkyl groups having 1 to 12 carbon atoms. 2. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 1 , wherein the lithium amide is present in the composition. 3. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 1 , wherein the lithium silylamide is present in the composition. 4. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 1 , wherein the lithium alkyl phosphate salt is present in the composition. 5. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 1 , curing via a hydrosilylation reaction. 6. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 5 , comprising: (A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule; (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, in an amount such that a content of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms in this component is from about 0.1 to about 10 moles per 1 mole of silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups in component (A); (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst, in a sufficient amount to cure the composition; and (D) the at least one lithium compound selected from the group consisting of the lithium amide, the lithium silylamide, and the lithium alkyl phosphate salt, in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 15 mass % of the composition. 7. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 6 , further comprising: (E) a hydrosilylation reaction inhibitor, in an amount of from about 0.001 to about 1 mass % of the composition. 8. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 1 for a rubber mold-making material. 9. An antistatic silicone rubber obtained by curing the antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 1 . 10. The antistatic silicone rubber according to claim 9 , having a surface resistivity of from about 10 10 to about 10 12 Ω/square. 11. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 6 , wherein the lithium amide is present in the composition. 12. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 6 , wherein the lithium silylamide is present in the composition. 13. The antistatic silicone rubber composition according to claim 6 , wherein the lithium alkyl phosphate salt is present in the composition.
