Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Data is received that characterizes infusions administered to a patient among each of a plurality of infusion channels. Thereafter, a plurality of infusion events and respective event times are identified based on the received data. A temporal view of the infusion events can then be displayed in a graphical user interface and/or the temporal view of the infusion events can form part of a report. The temporal view segregates each channel into a separate swim lane with each swim lane visualizing infusion events for the corresponding channel at the respective event times. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

What is claimed is: 1. A computer-implemented method, comprising: receiving, by at least one data processor and from one or more remote devices, for each of a plurality of patients, patient data, treatment data, and one or more medication orders; associating, by the at least one data processor, at least one of the medication orders with an infusion pump and with a patient based at least in part on an association between the patient and the infusion pump; identifying, by the at least one data processor and based on at least the treatment data, for each of the plurality of patients, data characterizing one or more attributes relating to one or more infusions to be administered; determining, by the at least one data processor and based on at least one predefined infusion event rule and at least one of the received treatment data and the received patient data, for each of the plurality of patients, whether at least one of the received treatment data and the received patient data comprises a future infusion event associated with the one or more infusions to be administered; generating, by the at least one data processor, for each of the plurality of patients, a user interface for display, the user interface comprising: at least a portion of the patient data; at least a portion of the treatment data; at least one graphical user interface element; the future infusion event; a status of the one or more medication orders, the one or more medication orders specifying a fluid to be infused at the future infusion event; and an indication of at least one of the one or more attributes relating to the one or more infusions to be administered; receiving, by the at least one data processor, a user interaction selection of at least one timeline element of one graphical user interface element of the at least one graphical user interface element included in the user interface for a patient of the plurality of patients; and causing, by the at least one data processor, a display of complementary information associated with the selected one graphical user interface element. 2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more attributes comprises medication container identifier, medication type, rate of medication administration, or infusion module identifier. 3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: associating, by the at least one data processor, for each of the plurality of patients, the patient data and the treatment data with a respective medical device. 4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the patient data and the treatment data is provided by a medication ordering system. 5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface for display comprises, for each of the plurality of patients, an infusion timeline section, the infusion timeline section comprising one or more swim lanes representative of the one or more infusions to be administered. 6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the infusion timeline section comprises the indication of at least one of the one or more attributes relating to the one or more infusions to be administered. 7. The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the user interface for display comprises, at least one of the one or more swim lanes comprises a series of graphical icons including at least one graphical icon that indicates at least one of an infusion paused or stopped, existence of a new medication container, an infusion start time, an infusion stop time, and an infusion continuing into a subsequent day. 8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the complimentary information is associated with the one or more infusions to be administered. 9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the determining is based on at least the received treatment data. 10. A system comprising: at least one processor; and a memory, wherein the at least one processor and the memory are configured to perform operations comprising: receiving, from one or more remote devices, for each of a plurality of patients, patient data, treatment data, and one or more medication orders; associating, by the at least one data processor, at least one of the medication orders with an infusion pump and with a patient based at least in part on an association between the patient and the infusion pump; identifying, based on at least the treatment data, for each of the plurality of patients, data characterizing one or more attributes relating to one or more infusions to be administered; determining, by the at least one data processor and based on at least one predefined infusion event rule and at least one of the received treatment data and the received patient data, for each of the plurality of patients, whether at least one of the received treatment data and the received patient data comprises a future infusion event associated with the one or more infusions to be administered; generating, for each of the plurality of patients, a user interface for display, the user interface comprising: at least a portion of the patient data; at least a portion of the treatment data; at least one graphical user interface element; the future infusion event; a status of the one or more medication orders, the one or more medication orders specifying a fluid to be infused at the future infusion event; and an indication of at least one of the one or more attributes relating to the one or more infusions to be administered; receiving a user interaction selection of at least one timeline element of one graphical user interface element of the at least one graphical user interface element included in the user interface for a patient of the plurality of patients; and causing a displaying of complementary information associated with the selected one graphical user interface element. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the one or more attributes comprises medication container identifier, medication type, rate of medication administration, or infusion module identifier. 12. The system of claim 10 , the operations further comprising: associating, for each of the plurality of patients, the patient data and the treatment data with a respective medical device. 13. The system of claim 10 , wherein the patient data and the treatment data is provided by a medication ordering system. 14. The system of claim 10 , wherein the user interface for display comprises, for each of the plurality of patients, an infusion timeline section, the infusion timeline section comprising one or more swim lanes representative of the one or more infusions to be administered. 15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the infusion timeline section comprises the indication of at least one of the one or more attributes relating to the one or more infusions to be administered. 16. The system of claim 10 , wherein the complementary information is associated with the one or more infusions to be administered. 17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing instructions which, when executed by at least one data processor, result in operations comprising: receiving, by the at least one data processor and from one or more remote devices, for each of a plurality of patients, patient data, treatment data, and one or more medication orders; identifying, by the at least one data processor and based on at least the treatment data, for each each of the plurality of patients, data characterizing one or more attributes relating to one or more infusions to be administered; determining, by the at least one da
