Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to connection blocks and pump manifold systems, and related methods, for pumping operations (such as frac operations). In one implementation, a connection block for disposition along a pump manifold of a pump system includes a first end hub having a first tube and a first outer shoulder extending outwardly relative to the first tube. The connection block includes a second end hub opposing the first end hub. The second end hub has a second tube and a second outer shoulder extending outwardly relative to the second tube. The connection block includes one or more faces between the first end hub and the second end hub.

We claim: 1. A connection assembly, comprising: a connection block for disposition along a pump manifold of a pump system, the connection block comprising: a first end hub having a first tube and a first outer shoulder extending outwardly relative to the first tube, a second end hub opposing the first end hub, the second end hub having a second tube and a second outer shoulder extending outwardly relative to the second tube, and one or more faces between the first end hub and the second end hub; a first clamp and a second clamp coupled to the connection block; and a plurality of mount assemblies mounting the first and second clamps to the connection block, wherein at least one of the plurality of mount assemblies comprises: a mount flange coupled to the connection block, one or more bars extending through the mount flange, and one or more links interfacing with the one or more bars, the one or more links coupled to a respective clamp of the first and second clamps, the one or more bars extending through the one or more links, and the one or more links comprising: a first link on a first side of the mount flange, and a second link on a second side of the mount flange. 2. The connection assembly of claim 1 , the connection block further comprising: a first planar face between the first end hub and the second end hub; one or more first openings formed in the first planar face; a second planar face between the first end hub and the second end hub; and one or more second openings formed in the second planar face. 3. The connection assembly of claim 2 , wherein the one or more faces comprise: a first arcuate face between the first planar face and the second planar face; and a second arcuate face between the first planar face and the second planar face, the second arcuate face opposing the first arcuate face. 4. The connection assembly of claim 1 , wherein each of the first outer shoulder and the second outer shoulder has an outer diameter that is less than 17.0 inches. 5. The connection assembly of claim 1 , the connection block further comprising a central opening, the central opening having an inner diameter that is greater than 4.5 inches. 6. The connection assembly of claim 1 , the connection block further comprising a central opening having an inner diameter, wherein each of the first outer shoulder and the second outer shoulder has an outer diameter that is a ratio of the inner diameter, wherein the ratio is 3:1 or less. 7. The connection assembly of claim 1 , the connection block further comprising: a first planar face between the first end hub and the second end hub; and a first set of one or more hubs extending relative to the first planar face. 8. The connection assembly of claim 7 , the connection block further comprising: a second planar face between the first end hub and the second end hub; and a second set of one or more hubs extending relative to the second planar face. 9. The connection assembly of claim 1 , wherein one or more of the first clamp or the second clamp comprises three segments and a single fastener. 10. The connection assembly of claim 1 , wherein each of the first clamp and the second clamp comprises: a first segment; a second segment; and one or more fasteners extending through the first segment and the second segment. 11. The connection assembly of claim 10 , wherein each of the first segment and the second segment of each of the first clamp and the second clamp comprises: a first inner shoulder; a second inner shoulder; and a gap between the first inner shoulder and the second inner shoulder. 12.
