The present invention provides a method for producing a compound represented by formula (2), comprising at least a step of preparing a compound represented by formula (1) and a step of reacting the compound represented by formula (1) with a hydrogen source using a catalyst, wherein R 1 and R 2 are each independently an alkyl group.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for producing a compound of formula (2), the method comprising: reacting a compound of formula (1) with a hydrogen source in the presence of a catalyst, wherein R 1 and R 2 are each independently an alkyl group. 2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein R 1 and R 2 are each an ethyl group. 3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the hydrogen source comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of molecular hydrogen, ammonium formate, sodium formate, hydrazine and sodium boron hydride. 4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the hydrogen source is molecular hydrogen. 5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the reacting is carried out by a wet process. 6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the catalyst is a heterogeneous catalyst. 7. A compound of formula (2): wherein R 1 and R 2 are each an ethyl group.
