Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The described technology is generally directed towards operating a user equipment node as a scheduler user equipment (e.g., which can be a local manager of other nodes in a group). The scheduler user equipment receives a scheduling request for the scheduling of the resources for transmission of data by a transmitter user equipment, and based on the traffic type requested, schedules the transmitter user equipment and receiver user equipment(s) with scheduling data/allocated radio resources. The transmitter user equipment can directly transmit to the receiver user equipment(s) on the allocated radio resources, e.g., without further involvement of the scheduler user equipment/local manager. For cellular data, the scheduler user equipment can schedule the transmitter user equipment to transmit to the scheduler user equipment as a receiver node.

What is claimed is: 1. A method, comprising: facilitating, by a scheduler user equipment comprising a processor, broadcasting a synchronization signal that identifies the scheduler user equipment as capable of scheduling resources; facilitating, by the scheduler user equipment, receiving, from a first user equipment, a scheduling request for the scheduling of the resources for transmission of data by the first user equipment; and facilitating, by the scheduler user equipment, transmitting first scheduling information to the first user equipment and transmitting second scheduling information to a second user equipment, to further facilitate the transmission of the data by the first user equipment directly to the second user equipment, wherein the facilitating of transmitting of the first scheduling information comprises facilitating transmitting of first downlink control information (DCI) between the scheduler user equipment and the first user equipment, wherein the facilitating of transmitting of the second scheduling information comprises facilitating transmitting of second DCI between the scheduler user equipment and the second user equipment, wherein the first DCI indicates the first scheduling information, wherein the second DCI indicates the second scheduling information. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the scheduling request comprises a traffic type of the transmission of the data by the first user equipment. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein transmitting the second scheduling information comprises: in response to the traffic type being determined to be a broadcast traffic type, broadcasting the second scheduling information in a defined area comprising the second user equipment, and at least one third user equipment other than the first user equipment and the second user equipment. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein transmitting the second scheduling information comprises: in response to the traffic type being determined to be a multicast traffic type, transmitting the second scheduling information to a group of user equipment comprising the second user equipment. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the scheduler user equipment is a first scheduler user equipment, and wherein transmitting the second scheduling information comprises: in response to determining that the second user equipment is served by a second scheduler user equipment, sending the second scheduling information to the second scheduler user equipment to forward the second scheduling information to the second user equipment. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user equipment is part of a vehicle. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the scheduler user equipment is part of a vehicle. 8. A first user equipment, comprising: a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising: broadcasting a synchronization signal that identifies the first user equipment as being able to schedule resources; receiving, from a second user equipment, a scheduling request that requests a scheduling of the resources for a transmission by the second user equipment; and to facilitate the transmission by the second user equipment directly to a third user equipment, communicating first downlink control information (DCI) to the second user equipment, wherein the first DCI indicates first scheduling information; and communicating second DCI to the third user equipment, wherein the second DCI indicates second scheduling information. 9. The first user equipment of claim 8 , wherein the scheduling request comprises a traffic type applicable to the transmission by the second user equipment. 10. The first user equipment of claim 9 , wherein communicating the second scheduling information comprises: in response to the traffic type comprised in the scheduling request being a broadcast traffic type, broadcasting the second scheduling information to a defined region comprising the third user equipment, and at least one fourth user equipment other than the first user equipment, the second user equipment, and the third user equipment. 11. The first user equipment of claim 9 , wherein communicating the second scheduling information comprises: in response to the traffic type comprised in the scheduling request being a multicast traffic type, communicating the second scheduling information to a group of user equipment comprising the third user equipment. 12. The first user equipment of claim 8 , wherein communicating the second scheduling information comprises: in response to determining that the third user equipment is served by a fourth user equipment other than the first user equipment, the second user equipment, and the third user equipment, communicating the second scheduling information to the fourth user equipment to relay the second scheduling information to the third user equipment. 13. The first user equipment of claim 8 , wherein the first user equipment is part of a vehicle. 14. The first user equipment of claim 8 , wherein the first user equipment is a road-side unit. 15. A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a local manager user equipment, facilitate performance of operations, comprising: broadcasting a synchronization signal that identifies the local manager user equipment as comprising a capability to schedule resources; receiving, from a transmitter user equipment, a scheduling request requesting the scheduling of the resources for a transmission by the transmitter user equipment; and sending first downlink control information (DCI) that indicates first scheduling information to the transmitter user equipment, and sending second DCI that indicates second scheduling information to a receiver user equipment, to facilitate enabling the transmission by the transmitter user equipment directly to the receiver user equipment. 16. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the scheduling request comprises a traffic type of the transmission by the transmitter user equipment. 17. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the scheduling request comprises type information indicating that the transmission to be performed by the transmitter user equipment is of a broadcast traffic type, and wherein sending the second scheduling information comprises: based on the transmission being indicated to be of the broadcast traffic type, broadcasting the second scheduling information in a defined area comprising the receiver user equipment, and at least one other receiver user equipment other than the receiver user equipment. 18. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the scheduling request comprises type information indicating that the transmission to be performed by the transmitter user equipment is of a multicast traffic type, and wherein sending the second scheduling information comprises: based on the transmission being indicated to be of the multicast traffic type, sending the second scheduling information to a group of receiver user equipment comprising the receiver user equipment. 19. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the local manager user equipment is a first local manager user equipment, and wherein sending the second scheduling information comprises: in response to determining that a second local manager user equipment serves the receiver user equipment, sending the second scheduling information to
