Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Embodiments described herein provide for smart configuration of audio settings for a playback device. According to an embodiment, while a playback device is a part of a first zone group that includes the playback device and at least one first playback device, the playback device applies a first audio setting. The embodiment also includes the playback device joining a second zone group that includes the playback device and at least one second playback device. The embodiment further includes the playback device applying a second audio setting based on an audio content profile corresponding to the second zone group.

The invention claimed is: 1. A system comprising: processors comprising at least one first processor, at least one second processor, and at least one third processor; a first control device comprising the at least one first processor; a second control device comprising the at least one second processor; at least one wearable playback device comprising the at least one third processor and at least one audio transducer; one or more wireless network interfaces; and at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that are executable by theprocessors such that the system is configured to: receive, via a control interface of the first control device, input data representing one or more equalization adjustments; store the one or more equalization adjustments as an audio profile; control, via the first control device, playback of first audio on the at least one wearable playback device; while controlling playback of the first audio via the first control device, automatically apply the audio profile on the at least one wearable playback device, wherein application of the audio profile boosts one or more first frequency bands relative to one or more second frequency bands; propagate, via the one or more wireless network interfaces, data representing the audio profile to the second control device; and control, via the second control device, playback of second audio on the at least one wearable playback device; and while controlling playback of the second audio via the second control device, automatically apply the audio profile to the at least one wearable playback device. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one wearable playback device comprise a first wearable playback device and a second wearable playback device configured in a bonded configuration, and wherein the program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to automatically apply the audio profile on the at least one wearable playback device comprise program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to: automatically apply the audio profile on the first wearable playback device and the second wearable playback device while the first wearable playback device plays a first portion of the first audio and the second wearable playback device plays a second portion of the second audio. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the first portion of the first audio comprises a first stereo channel of the first audio, wherein the second portion of the second audio comprises a second stereo channel of the first audio, and wherein the at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium further comprises program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to: play back the second stereo channel on the second wearable playback device in synchrony with playback of the first stereo channel on the first wearable playback device. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to automatically apply the audio profile on the at least one wearable playback device comprise program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to: send, via the one or more wireless network interfaces, instructions to apply the one or more equalization adjustments to the at least one wearable playback device. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to automatically apply the audio profile on the at least one wearable playback device comprise program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to: when a portion of the first audio does not correspond to the audio profile, modify the portion of the first audio to correspond to the audio profile. 6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to automatically apply the audio profile on the at least one wearable playback device comprise program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to: when an additional portion of the first audio corresponds to the audio profile, forego modifying the additional portion of the first audio. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium further comprises program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to: apply spatial signal processing to playback of the first audio, wherein application of the spatial signal processing causes portions of the first audio appear to come from multiple sources within a listening environment. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium further comprises program instructions that are executable by the processors such that the system is configured to: switch control of playback on the at least one wearable playback device from the first control device to the second control device. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein a smartphone comprises the first control device and wherein a tablet computer comprises the second control device. 10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one wearable playback device comprises a wireless headphone. 11. A first control device comprising: at least one wireless network interface; and at least one processor; and at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that are executable by the at least one processor such that the first control device is configured to: receive, via a control interface of the first control device, input data representing one or more equalization adjustments; store the one or more equalization adjustments as an audio profile; control, via the first control device, playback of first audio on at least one wearable playback device; while controlling playback of the first audio via the first control device, automatically apply the audio profile on the at least one wearable playback device, wherein application of the audio profile boosts one or more first frequency bands relative to one or more second frequency bands; and propagate, via the one or more wireless network interfaces, data representing the audio profile to a second control device, wherein the second control device is configured to automatically apply the audio profile to the at least one wearable playback device while controlling playback of second audio via the second control device. 12. The first control device of claim 11 , wherein the at least one wearable playback device comprise a first wearable playback device and a second wearable playback device configured in a bonded configuration, and wherein the program instructions that are executable by the at least one processor such that the first control device is configured to automatically apply the audio profile on the at least one wearable playback device comprise program instructions that are executable by the at least one processor such that the first control device is configured to: automatically apply the audio profile on the first wearable playback device and the second wearable playback device while the first wearable playback device plays a first portion of the first audio and the second wearable playback device plays a second portion of the second audio. 13. The first control device of claim 12 , wherein the first portion of the first audio comprises a first stereo channel of the first audio, wherei
