This disclosure provides connectors for smart windows. A smart window may incorporate an optically switchable pane. In one aspect, a window unit includes an insulated glass unit including an optically switchable pane. A wire assembly may be attached to the edge of the insulated glass unit and may include wires in electrical communication with electrodes of the optically switchable pane. A floating connector may be attached to a distal end of the wire assembly. The floating connector may include a flange and a nose, with two holes in the flange for affixing the floating connector to a first frame. The nose may include a terminal face that present two exposed contacts of opposite polarity. Pre-wired spacers improve fabrication efficiency and seal integrity of insulated glass units. Electrical connection systems include those embedded in the secondary seal of the insulated glass unit.

The invention claimed is: 1. A magnetic electrical connector for establishing power/communication between an electrochromic window and a window controller, the magnetic electrical connector comprising: a first component comprising a floating portion comprising one or more first magnetic elements, a plurality of first electrically conductive regions and a first mating portion; and a second component comprising one or more second magnetic elements of opposing polarity to the one or more first magnetic elements, a plurality of second electrically conductive regions configured to electrically contact the plurality of first electrically conductive regions, and a second mating portion configured to couple to the first mating portion. 2. The magnetic electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein the one or more first magnetic elements and the one or more second magnetic elements are configured to magnetically actuate contacting the plurality of first electrically conductive regions to the plurality of second electrically conductive regions establishing power/communication between the electrochromic window and the window controller. 3. The magnetic electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein (A) at least one of the one or more first magnetic elements and/or the one or more second magnetic elements is a neodymium-based magnet and/or (B) the second mating portion includes a protrusion and the first mating portion includes a recess configured to receive the protrusion. 4. The magnetic electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first electrically conductive regions and/or the second electrically conductive regions is a pad or a pin. 5. The magnetic electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein the first electrically conductive regions are in electrical communication with bus bars of one or more electrochromic devices of the electrochromic. 6. The magnetic electrical connector of claim 5 , wherein the second electrically conductive regions are in electrical communication with the window controller. 7. The magnetic electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein the first component is located within a frame around an insulated glass unit of the electrochromic window. 8. The magnetic electrical connector of claim 7 , wherein the (A) the frame is a movable frame or (B) the second component is located within a building frame. 9. A movable door or window in a building, comprising: a) an insulated glass unit having one or more optically switchable devices; and b) a first component of a magnetic electrical connector having a floating portion comprising one or more first magnetic elements, a plurality of first electrically conductive regions in electrical communication with the one or more optically switchable devices, and a mating portion configured to couple to a second component of the magnetic electrical connector. 10. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein the second component is located within a building frame and/or in electrical communication with a window controller. 11. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein the first component is configured to magnetically engage with the second component via the one or more first magnetic elements. 12. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein the first magnetic elements are configured to magnetically actuate to one or more second magnetic elements of the second component contacting the plurality of first electrically conductive regions to a plurality of second electrically conductive regions of the second component establishing power/communication between the movable door or window and a window controller. 13. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein the one or more first magnetic elements are configured to magnetically couple to one or more second magnetic elements of opposing polarity of the second component. 14. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein at least one of the one or more first magnetic elements is a neodymium-based magnet. 15. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein the mating portion includes a recess configured to receive a protrusion of the second component. 16. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein at least one of the first electrically conductive regions is a pad or a pin. 17. The movable door or window of claim 9 , wherein the at least one of the one or more optically switchable devices is an electrochromic device. 18. The movable door or window of claim 9 , further comprising a frame disposed around the insulated glass unit. 19. The movable door or window of claim 18 , wherein the first component is located within the frame. 20. The movable door or window of claim 18 , wherein the movable door or window is configured to slidably engage with the frame.
