An example method for requesting message transmission for sidelink inter-UE coordination may include receiving, by a first wireless device from a second wireless device, sidelink control information (SCI) indicating a request for resource selection for one or more sidelink transmissions by the second wireless device, and receiving, from the second wireless device, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating a reservation interval for the resource selection for the one or more sidelink transmissions. The method includes transmitting, to the second wireless device, a message indicating a set of resources for the one or more sidelink transmissions, wherein the set of resources are selected by the first wireless device and based on the SCI and the MAC CE.

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: receiving, by a first wireless device from a second wireless device, sidelink control information (SCI) indicating a request for resource selection by the first wireless device for one or more sidelink transmissions by the second wireless device; receiving, from the second wireless device, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating a reservation interval for the resource selection by the first wireless device for the one or more sidelink transmissions by the second wireless device to the first wireless device, wherein the SCI and the MAC CE are in different messages; and transmitting, to the second wireless device, a message indicating a set of resources for the one or more sidelink transmissions, wherein the set of resources are selected by the first wireless device after reception of the SCI and the MAC CE and based on the resource selection being requested and the reservation interval being provided. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the MAC CE comprises one or more first fields indicating at least one of: a layer 1 priority of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a number of subchannels of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a transmission configuration of the one or more sidelink transmissions, wherein the transmission configuration indicates that the one or more sidelink transmissions are either periodic transmissions or aperiodic transmissions; the set of resources being either a set of preferred resources or a set of non-preferred resources; a remaining packet delay budget (PDB) of the one or more sidelink transmissions; or a sidelink resource pool identifier (ID) of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the SCI comprises one or more second fields, based on one or more first fields of the MAC CE, indicating at least one of: a reservation interval of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a layer 1 priority of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a number of subchannels of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a transmission configuration of the one or more sidelink transmissions, wherein the transmission configuration indicates that the one or more sidelink transmissions are either periodic transmissions or aperiodic transmissions; the set of resources being either a set of preferred resources or a set of non-preferred resources; a remaining PDB of the one or more sidelink transmissions; or a sidelink resource pool ID of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the SCI comprises second-stage SCI. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first wireless device is a coordinating wireless device of the second wireless device for the one or more sidelink transmissions. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first wireless device is a destination receiver of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first wireless device excludes a destination receiver of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising performing, based on the receiving of the MAC CE, a resource selection procedure to select the set of resources. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of resources is a set of preferred resources. 10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the set of preferred resources comprises a first resource satisfying at least one of: a first reference signal received power (RSRP) of the first resource being lower than a first RSRP threshold; or a first priority value of the first resource being greater than a first priority threshold. 11. A first wireless device comprising: one or more processors; and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to: receive, from a second wireless device, sidelink control information (SCI) indicating a request for resource selection by the first wireless device for one or more sidelink transmissions by the second wireless device; receive, from the second wireless device, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating a reservation interval for the resource selection by the first wireless device for the one or more sidelink transmissions by the second wireless device to the first wireless device, wherein the SCI and the MAC CE are in different messages; and transmit, to the second wireless device, a message indicating a set of resources for the one or more sidelink transmissions, wherein the set of resources are selected by the first wireless device after reception of the SCI and the MAC CE and based on the resource selection being requested and the reservation interval being provided. 12. The first wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the MAC CE comprises one or more first fields indicating at least one of: a layer 1 priority of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a number of subchannels of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a transmission configuration of the one or more sidelink transmissions, wherein the transmission configuration indicates that the one or more sidelink transmissions are either periodic transmissions or aperiodic transmissions; the set of resources being either a set of preferred resources or a set of non-preferred resources; a remaining packet delay budget (PDB) of the one or more sidelink transmissions; or a sidelink resource pool identifier (ID) of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 13. The first wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the SCI comprises one or more second fields, based on one or more first fields of the MAC CE, indicating at least one of: a reservation interval of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a layer 1 priority of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a number of subchannels of the one or more sidelink transmissions; a transmission configuration of the one or more sidelink transmissions, wherein the transmission configuration indicates that the one or more sidelink transmissions are either periodic transmissions or aperiodic transmissions; the set of resources being either a set of preferred resources or a set of non-preferred resources; a remaining PDB of the one or more sidelink transmissions; or a sidelink resource pool ID of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 14. The first wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the first wireless device is a coordinating wireless device of the second wireless device for the one or more sidelink transmissions. 15. The first wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the first wireless device is a destination receiver of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 16. The first wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the first wireless device excludes a destination receiver of the one or more sidelink transmissions. 17. The first wireless device of claim 11 , further comprising performing, based on the receiving of the MAC CE, a resource selection procedure to select the set of resources. 18. The first wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the set of resources is a set of preferred resources. 19. The first wireless device of claim 18 , wherein the set of preferred resources comprises a first resource satisfying at least one of: a first reference signal received power (RSRP) of the first resource being lower than a first RSRP threshold; or a first priority value of the first resource being greater than a first priority threshold. 20.
