What is claimed is: 1. An isolated antibody designated hLept3 that binds human leptin and comprises V H CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 sequences: GGTFSSYA (SEQ ID NO:7), IIPIFGTA (SEQ ID NO:8), and ARSQVPSSYYYGMDV (SEQ ID NO:9), and V L CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 sequences: NSNIGAGYH (SEQ ID NO:20), GDT, and QSYDRSRGGWF (SEQ ID NO:21). 2. The antibody of claim 1 , comprising the V H and V L sequences: (SEQ ID NO: 65) QVQLVQSGAEVKKPGSSVKVSCKASGGTFSSYAISWVRQAPGQGLEWMG GIIPIFGTANYAQKFQGRVTITADESTSTAYMELSSLRSEDTAVYYCAR SQVPSSYYYGMDVWGQGTMVTVSS, and (SEQ ID NO: 66) QSVLTQPPSVSGAPGQRVTISCTGGNSNIGAGYHVHWYQQLPGAAPKLL IYGDTNRPSGVPDRFSGSQSGTSASLAITGLQADDEADYYCQSYDRSRG GWFFGGGTQLTVL 3. The antibody of claim 1 , that is a humanized monoclonal IgG antibody. 4. A method of reducing leptin levels in a human subject, comprising administering an effective amount of the antibody of claim 1 to said subject.
