A filtration media pack is provided having a plurality of layers of single facer media. The layer of single facer media includes a fluted sheet, a facing sheet, and a plurality of flutes extending between the fluted sheet and the facing sheet and having a flute length extending from a first face to a second face of the filtration media pack. A first portion of the plurality of flutes are closed to unfiltered fluid flowing into the first portion of the plurality of flutes, and a second portion of the plurality of flutes are closed to unfiltered fluid flowing out of the second portion of the plurality of flutes so that fluid passing into one of the first face and the second face of the media pack and out the other face of the media pack passes through media to provide filtration of the fluid.

We claim: 1. A filtration media pack comprising: (a) a plurality of layers of filter media wherein the layers of filter media comprise a fluted sheet and a facing sheet with spaces between the layers; (b) a first portion of the spaces between the layers of filter media being closed to unfiltered fluid flowing into the first portion of the spaces between the layers, and a second portion of the spaces between the layers being closed to unfiltered fluid flowing out of the second portion of the spaces between the layers, so that fluid passing into one face of the media pack and out another face of the media pack passes through media to provide filtration of the fluid; (c) wherein the fluted sheets comprise first peaks and second peaks with sections of media extending between the first peaks and second peaks; and (d) wherein alternating sections of the media extending between the first peaks and second peaks comprise ridges that approach toward a first peak and away from a second peak; wherein at least of one of the alternating sections of the media comprises at least two ridges along at least 50% of the flute length. 2. A filtration media pack according to claim 1 , wherein the ridges in the fluted sheet extend along at least 50% of the flute length. 3. A filtration media pack according to claim 1 , wherein the filtration media pack has a flute width height ratio of greater than 2.5. 4. A filtration media pack according to claim 1 , wherein the filtration media pack has a flute width height ratio of less than 0.4. 5. A filtration media pack according to claim 1 , wherein the filtration media pack has an average flute density of less than 25 flute/inch 2 . 6. A filtration media pack according to claim 1 , wherein the filtration media pack has an average flute density of less than 34 flute/inch 2 . 7. A filtration media pack according to claim 1 , wherein the filtration media pack has an average media-cord percentage of greater than 6.5%. 8. A filter element comprising a filtration media pack according to claim 1 and a seal member extending around a periphery of the media pack. 9. A filtration media pack comprising: (a) a plurality of layers of filter media wherein the layers of filter media comprise a fluted sheet and a facing sheet with spaces between the layers; (b) a first portion of the spaces between the layers of filter media being closed to unfiltered fluid flowing into the first portion of the spaces between the layers, and a second portion of the spaces between the layers being closed to unfiltered fluid flowing out of the second portion of the spaces between the layers, so that fluid passing into one face of the media pack and out another face of the media pack passes through media to provide filtration of the fluid; (c) wherein the fluted sheets comprise first peaks and second peaks with sections of media extending between the first peaks and second peaks; and (d) wherein alternating sections of the media extending between the first peaks and second peaks comprise discontinuities in curvature. 10. A filtration media pack according to claim 9 , wherein the discontinuities in curvature in the fluted sheet extend along at least 50% of the flute length. 11. A filtration media pack according to claim 9 , wherein the fluted sheet comprises at least two discontinuities in curvature along at least 50% of the flute length. 12. A filtration media pack according to claim 9 , wherein the filtration media pack has a flute width height ratio of greater than 2.5. 13. A filtration media pack according to claim 9 , wherein the filtration media pack has a flute width height ratio of less than 0.4. 14. A filtration media pack according to claim 9 , wherein the filtration media pack has an average flute density of less than 25 flute/inch 2 . 15. A filtration media pack according to claim 9 , wherein the filtration media pack has an average flute density of less than 34 flute/inch 2 . 16. A filtration media pack according to claim 9 , wherein the filtration media pack has an average media-cord percentage of greater than 6.5%. 17. A filter element comprising a filtration media pack according to claim 9 and a seal member extending around a periphery of the media pack.
