Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An ad simulator having at least in-browser simulation capabilities is provided. In examples, the ad simulator may be a web browser extension, which a media developer, designer, etc. may use for ad display simulation. The browser extension may locate existing display ads on a webpage, one or more of which can be selected to be replaced with a new ad. A HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) request may be made to an ad template rendering engine that returns a HyperText Markup Language (HTML) of a new ad personalized and targeted to a customer. The browser extension may then replace the existing ad with the new ad.

What is claimed is: 1. A system including at least one computing device comprising: memory storing one or more instructions for performing a proxyless ad testing process; and one or more processors, coupled to the memory, operable to execute the one or more instructions, that when executed, perform the proxyless ad testing process via causing the one or more processors to: receive a HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) request, wherein the HTTP request includes context information indicating a uniform resource locator (URL) of a web site, and one or more ad dimensions, the HTTP request received based, at least in part, on a detection by a browser extension of a graphical selection of one or more ads on the website, wherein the one or more ads correspond to the one or more ad dimensions, wherein the graphical selection is input by a user via the at least one computing device, receive a cookie value comprising at least one sample cookie value corresponding to one or more randomly selected customers cookies, determine the cookie value matches a customer cookie value associated with a first customer ID value of a first customer, the first customer different from the user, identify a location associated with the first customer, wherein the location is linked to the first customer ID value and stored in storage, determine a URL schema of the website, parse out the URL of the website based on the URL schema to determine information about the website, the information comprising one or more of the following: a vehicle make, a vehicle model, or a vehicle condition, identify at least one vehicle in a vehicle database within a defined distance of the location and matching at least one portion of the information, add an image of the at least one vehicle in a personalized HyperText Markup Language (HTML) element in accordance with the received one or more ad dimensions, and return the personalized HTML element to the browser extension for display on the website. 2. The system of claim 1 , the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, to cause the one or more processors to determine whether the cookie value is mappable to a customer ID value in a customer database. 3. The system of claim 2 , the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, to cause the one or more processors to return one or more default or stock images when the cookie value is unmappable to the customer ID value in the customer database. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the personalized HTML is returned within a predetermined time period, and wherein the predetermined time period is 50 milliseconds. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the personalized HTML comprises one or more embedded links linking one or more webpages associated with the image of the at least one vehicle. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the personalized HTML, comprises vehicle financing information or offers associated with the at least one vehicle. 7. The system of claim 1 , the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, to cause the one or more processors to: compare or match the information about the website against the vehicle database. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more ad dimensions comprise a size dimension of the one or more ads. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the cookie value indicates a customer identity and a customer zip code. 10. A computer-implemented method for performing a proxyless ad testing process, comprising, via at least one processor of at least one computing device: receiving a HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) request, wherein the HTTP request includes context information indicating a uniform resource locator (URL) of a website, and one or more ad dimensions, the HTTP request received based, at least in part, on a detection by a browser extension of a graphical selection of one or more ads on the website, wherein the one or more ads correspond to the one or more ad dimensions, wherein the graphical selection is input by a user via the at least one computing device; receiving a cookie value comprising at least one sample cookie value corresponding to one or more randomly selected customers cookies; determining the cookie value matches a customer cookie value associated with a first customer ID value of a first customer, the first customer different from the user; identifying a location associated with the first customer, wherein the location is linked to the first customer ID value and stored in storage; determining a URL schema of the website; parsing out the URL of the website based on the URL schema to determine information about the website, the information comprising one or more of the following: a vehicle make, a vehicle model, or a vehicle condition; identifying at least one vehicle in a vehicle database within a defined distance of the location and matching at least one portion of the information; adding an image of the at least one vehicle in a personalized HyperText Markup Language (HTML) element in accordance with the received one or more ad dimensions; and returning the personalized HTML element to the browser extension for display on the website. 11. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , comprising determining whether the cookie value is mappable to a customer ID value in a customer database. 12. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , comprising returning one or more default or stock images when the cookie value is unmappable to the customer ID value in the customer database. 13. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the personalized HTML is returned within a predetermined time period, and wherein the predetermined time period is 50 milliseconds. 14. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the personalized HTML comprises one or more embedded links linking one or more webpages associated with the image of the at least one vehicle. 15. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the personalized HTML, comprises vehicle financing information or offers associated with the at least one vehicle. 16. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , comprising: comparing or matching the information about the website against the vehicle database. 17. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the one or more ad dimensions comprise a size dimension of the one or more ads. 18. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the cookie value indicates a customer identity and a customer zip code. 19. The system of claim 1 , the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, to cause the one or more processors to receive input from the user changing the cookie value. 20. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , comprising receiving input from the user changing the cookie value.
