An occlusion clip comprising: (a) a spring; (b) a first runner including a first open top and a first open end adjacent the first open top, the first runner including a first interior camming surface partially delineating a first interior cavity that is open by way of the first open top and the first open end; (c) a second runner including a second open top and a second open end adjacent the second open top, the second runner including a second interior camming surface partially delineating a second interior cavity that is open by way of the second open top and the second open end, where the spring is configured to be coupled to the first runner and the second runner, where the first interior cavity is configured to receive a first portion of the spring, where the second interior cavity is configured to receive a second portion of the spring, where the first camming surface is configured to engage a first cam of the spring, and where the second camming surface is configured to engage a second cam of the spring.

What is claimed is: 1. A left atrial appendage occlusion clip, comprising: first and second runners separate from one another and each comprising an occlusion surface, a proximal end, a distal end opposite the proximal end, a length extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a width at each of the proximal and distal ends, wherein the width of the first runner and the width of the second runner are less than the length of the first runner and the length of the second runner respectively, and wherein the first and second runners are disposed to face the occlusion surfaces towards one another such that the proximal ends of the first and second runners and first and second springs together define a closed clip end and the distal ends of the first and second runners together define an open clip end; the first spring connecting the first runner to the second runner, the first spring coupled to exterior surfaces of the first and second runners and crossing over from the first runner to the second runner adjacent the proximal ends of the first and second runners; and the second spring connecting the first runner to the second runner, the second spring coupled to the first and second runners and crossing over from the first runner to the second runner adjacent the proximal ends of the first and second runners. 2. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first spring comprises a first distal end and a second distal end that connect respectively to the first and second runners, the first spring configured to permit movement of the first and second runners at least towards and away from one another, and the second spring comprises a third distal end and a fourth distal end that connect respectively to the first and second runners, the second spring configured to permit movement of the first and second runners at least towards and away from one another. 3. The clip according to claim 2 , wherein the first distal end of the first spring is connected to the first runner in a manner that prevents longitudinal and vertical repositioning of the first runner relative to the first distal end of the first spring. 4. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first spring is connected to: an intermediate position of the first runner between the distal end and the proximal end of the first runner, and an intermediate position of the second runner between the distal end and the proximal end of the second runner; and the second spring is connected to: an intermediate position of the first runner between the distal end and proximal end of the first runner, and an intermediate position of the second runner between the distal end and proximal end of the second runner. 5. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first spring has two linear segments each having a length less than the lengths of the first and second runners, wherein the second spring has two linear segments each having a length less than the lengths of the first and second runners. 6. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second springs each comprises at least one of a rectangular, a circular, or an oblong cross-section. 7. The clip according to claim 1 , where the first runner has a first longitudinal axis and the second runner has a second longitudinal axis, wherein the first and second springs connect to the first and second runners such that the first and second runners are not rotationally repositionable about the first and second longitudinal axes. 8. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second runners are disposed to face the occlusion surfaces towards one another such that the distal ends of the runners are adjacent, and the proximal ends of the runners are adjacent. 9. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first spring and the second spring are each U-shaped. 10. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second runners each comprises an opening used for coupling the first spring. 11. The clip according to claim 10 , wherein each of the openings is closer to a distal end than a proximal end of the respective first and second runners. 12. The clip according to claim 1 , further comprising a first lock configured to fixedly couple the first spring to the first runner and a second lock configured to fixedly couple the first spring to the second runner. 13. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first runner and the second runner are unconnected to one another other than via the first and second springs. 14. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the length and width of the first runner approximates the length and width of the second runner. 15. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the occlusion clip is open on three sides. 16. The clip according to claim 15 , wherein the first spring and the second spring cooperate to close off a fourth side of the occlusion clip. 17. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first spring and the second spring comprises two elongate legs coupled together at an end, wherein the elongate legs of the first spring are independently repositionable with respect to one another and the elongate legs of the second spring are independently repositionable with respect to one another. 18. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second runners is arcuate. 19. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first runner and the second runner includes an arcuate surface. 20. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second runners comprises a cavity therein. 21. The clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first spring is coupled to the first runner at a first location and the first spring is coupled to the second runner at a second location, and wherein the first location is approximately the same as the second location along the lengths of the first and second runners. 22. The clip according to claim 2 , wherein the second distal end of the first spring is connected to the second runner in a manner that prevents longitudinal and vertical repositioning of the second runner relative to the second distal end of the first spring. 23. A left atrial appendage occlusion clip, comprising: first and second runners separate from one another and each comprising an occlusion surface, a proximal end, a distal end opposite the proximal end, a length extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a width at each of the proximal and distal ends, wherein the width of the first runner and the width of the second runner are less than the length of the first runner and the length of the second runner respectively, and wherein the first and second runners are disposed to face the occlusion surfaces towards one another such that the proximal ends of the first and second runners and first and second springs together define a closed clip end and the distal ends of the first and second runners together define an open clip end; the first spring connecting the first runner to the second runner, the first spring coupled to the first and second runners and crossing over from the first runner to the second runner adjacent the proximal ends of the first and second runners; and the second spring connecting the first runner to the second runner, the second spring coupled to the first and second runners and crossing over from the first runner to the second runner adjacent the proximal ends of the first and second runners. 24.
