Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for providing a camera service by an electronic device. The electronic device may include a camera, a memory, and at least one processor, the processor configured to control the electronic device to: receive a camera shooting request; display a preview image of an external object obtained through the camera using first area information based on a first shooting mode in response to the shooting request; receive an input corresponding to a second shooting mode in the first shooting mode; and display the preview using second area information corresponding to the second shooting mode in response to the input.

First claim

Opening claim text (preview).

What is claimed is: 1. A portable communication device comprising: a camera; a touchscreen display; and a processor operatively connected with the camera and the touchscreen display, the processor configured to: display, via the touchscreen display, a first live preview image corresponding to a first view angle in a video shooting mode; while the first live preview image is displayed in the video shooting mode, receive, via the touchscreen display, a user input corresponding to a request to transition into a photo shooting mode; in response to the user input, display, via the touchscreen display, an indication image indicative of a change from the video shooting mode to the photo shooting mode such that a size of a displaying area of the indication image is changed from a first size to a second size smaller than the first size; and after the indication image is displayed in the second size, display, via the touchscreen display, a second live preview image corresponding to a second view angle in the photo shooting mode, wherein the second view angle is wider than the first view angle, wherein the first size indicates a size of the first live preview image displayed on the touchscreen display in the video shooting mode, and the second size indicates a size of the second live preview iamge displayed on the touchscreen display in the photo shooting mode. 2. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to: perform the displaying of the indication image such that the indication image includes an image generated based at least in part on a still image corresponding to the first live preview image obtained in response to the user input. 3. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to: perform the displaying of the indication image such that a shadow-effect is filled in at least part of an area corresponding to a difference between the first size and the second size of the indication image. 4. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to: perform the displaying of the indication image such that a ratio of the displaying area of the indication image is adjusted from a first ratio corresponding to the first view angle to a second ratio corresponding to the second view angle. 5. A portable communication device comprising: a camera; a touchscreen display; and a processor operatively connected with the camera and the touchscreen display, the processor configured to: display, via the touchscreen display, a first live preview image corresponding to a video shooting mode and a first user interface (UI) object corresponding to a specified first function related to the video shooting mode, such that the first UI object is overlapped with the first live preview image; while the first live preview image and the first UI object are displayed in the video shooting mode as overlapped with each other, receive, via the touchscreen display, a user input corresponding to a request to transition into a photo shooting mode; in response to the user input, display, via the touchscreen display, an indication image indicative of a change from the video shooting mode to the photo shooting mode such that a size of a displaying area of the indication image is changed from a first size to a second size smaller than the first size, and such that a shadow-effect is filled in at least one portion of an area corresponding to a difference between the first size and the second size of the indication image; and after the indication image is displayed in the second size, display, via the touchscreen display, a second live preview image corresponding to the photo shooting mode and a second UI object corresponding to a second specified function related to the photo shooting mode such that the second UI object is at least partially overlapped with the at least one portion of the area in which the shadow-effect is filled. 6. The portable communication device of claim 5 , wherein the processor is configured to: perform the displaying of the first live preview image obtained based on a first view angle; and perform the displaying of the second live preview image obtained based on a second view angle narrower than the first view angle. 7. The portable communication device of claim 5 , wherein the processor is configured to: perform the displaying of the first live preview image such that the first live preview image is displayed in a first displaying area having a first size; and perform the displaying of the second live preview image such that the second live preview image is displayed in a second displaying area having a second size smaller than the first size. 8. A method for operating a portable communication device comprising: displaying a first live preview image corresponding to a first view angle in a video shooting mode; while the first live preview image is displayed in the video shooting mode, receiving a user input corresponding to a request to transition into a photo shooting mode; in response to the user input, displaying an indication image indicative of a change from the video shooting mode to the photo shooting mode such that a size of a displaying area of the indication image is changed from a first size to a second size smaller than the first size; and after the indication image is displayed in the second size, displaying a second live preview image corresponding to a second view angle in the photo shooting mode, wherein the second view angle is wider than the first view angle, wherein the first size indicates a size of the first live preview image displayed on a touchscreen display the video shooting mode, and the second size indicates a size of the second live preview image displayed on the touchscreen display in the photo shooting mode. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the displaying the indication image comprises: generating the indication image such that the indication image includes an image generated based at least in part on a still image corresponding to the first live preview image obtained in response to the user input. 10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the displaying the indication image comprises: displaying a shadow-effect filled in at least part of an area corresponding to a difference between the first size and the second size of the indication image. 11. The method of claim 8 , wherein a ratio of the displaying area of the indication image is adjusted from a first ratio corresponding to the first view angle to a second ratio corresponding to the second view angle. 12. A method for operating a portable communication device comprising: displaying a first live preview image corresponding to a video shooting mode and a first user interface (UI) object corresponding to a specified first function related to the video shooting mode, such that the first UI object is overlapped with the first live preview image; while the first live preview image and the first UI object are displayed in the video shooting mode as overlapped with each other, receiving a user input corresponding to a request to transition into a photo shooting mode; in response to the user input, displaying an indication image indicative of a change from the video shooting mode to the photo shooting mode such that a size of a displaying area of the indication image is changed from a first size to a second size smaller than the first size, and such that a shadow-effect is filled in at least one portion of an area corresponding to a difference between the first size and the second size of the indication image; and after the indication image is displayed in the second size,
