A system and method for communicating presence information that can include at a first server of a communication platform, receiving an authorization token of a first client application; verifying at least one permission associated with the authorization token; registering a presence status of the first client application upon verifying the at least one permission of the authorization token; at a second server of the communication platform, accepting an incoming communication request; retrieving communication instructions according to the incoming communication request; identifying an instruction to communicate with a communication destination of the first client application; accessing the presence status resource of the first client application; establishing communication with the first client application according to the accessed presence status resource.

We claim: 1. A method comprising: providing an application programming interface (API) for handling an API request associated with presence data; receiving a plurality of messages associated with a plurality of accounts, each message including a presence status associated with an account from the plurality of accounts; receiving, from a device, the API request associated with the presence data; based on the API request, converting the plurality of messages into a single API message that includes presence statuses of the plurality of accounts; and providing the device with the presence statuses of the plurality of accounts as the presence data via the single API message. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the device is associated with a further account that is connectable with each of the plurality of accounts. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, from the device, a communication request to connect with a client application associated with one of the plurality of accounts; and establishing a communication session between the device and the client application based on the presence data. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the presence data comprises a presence status of the one of the plurality of accounts associated with the client application. 5. The method of claim 3 , further comprising: establishing a communication channel between the device and the client application. 6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the communication channel is used for communicating one or more of a Short Message Service (SMS) message and a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) message. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: generating a resource based on the presence data, the resource being accessible via the API. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining an update of a presence status associated with the presence data; and updating the presence data based on the update of the presence status. 9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising: identifying one or more client applications that subscribe to one of the plurality of accounts associated with the presence status; and publishing the updated presence data to the one or more client applications. 10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: consolidating the presence data into the single API message that is provided to the device for processing. 11. A system comprising: a memory storing instructions; and one or more hardware processors communicatively coupled to the memory and configured by the instructions to perform operations comprising: providing an application programming interface (API) for handling an API request associated with presence data; receiving a plurality of messages associated with a plurality of accounts, each message including a presence status associated with an account from the plurality of accounts; receiving, from a device, the API request associated with the presence data; based on the API request, converting the plurality of messages into a single API message that includes presence statuses of the plurality of accounts; and providing the device with the presence statuses of the plurality of accounts as the presence data via the single API message. 12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the device is associated with a further account that is connectable with each of the plurality of accounts. 13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise: receiving, from the device, a communication request to connect with a client application associated with one of the plurality of accounts; and establishing a communication session between the device and the client application based on the presence data. 14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the presence data comprises a presence status of the one of the plurality of accounts associated with the client application. 15. The system of claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise: establishing a communication channel between the device and the client application. 16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the communication channel is used for communicating one or more of a Short Message Service (SMS) message and a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) message. 17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise: generating a resource based on the presence data, the resource being accessible via the API. 18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise: determining an update of a presence status associated with the presence data; and updating the presence data based on the update of the presence status. 19. The system of claim 18 , wherein the operations further comprise: identifying one or more client applications that subscribe to one of the plurality of accounts associated with the presence status; and publishing the updated presence data to the one or more client applications. 20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a hardware processor of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising: providing an application programming interface (API) for handling an API request associated with presence data; receiving a plurality of messages associated with a plurality of accounts, each message including a presence status associated with an account from the plurality of accounts; receiving, from a device, the API request associated with the presence data; based on the API request, converting the plurality of messages into a single API message that includes presence statuses of the plurality of accounts; and providing the device with the presence statuses of the plurality of accounts as the presence data via the single API message.
