Devices, methods and graphical user interfaces for manipulating user interfaces based on fingerprint sensor inputs are provided. While a display of an electronic device with a fingerprint sensor displays a first user interface, the device may detect movement of a fingerprint on the fingerprint sensor. In accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a first direction, the device allows navigating through the first user interface, and in accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a second direction different from the first direction, the device allows displaying a second user interface different from the first user interface on the display.

What is claimed is: 1. An electronic device, comprising: a touch-sensitive surface; a display; one or more processors; and memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for: displaying, on the display, a first user interface that includes a plurality of user interface elements including a first set of one or more user interface elements and a second set of one or more user interface elements, wherein: the first set of one or more user interface elements occupies a first portion of the display; the second set of one or more user interface elements occupies a second portion of the display different from the first portion; and a second user interface is not displayed on the display; while displaying the plurality of user interface elements, detecting movement of a first contact on the touch-sensitive surface in a first direction; in response to detecting movement of the first contact on the touch-sensitive surface in the first direction, ceasing to display the first set of one or more user interface elements while continuing to display the second set of one or more user interface elements, including: shifting the first user interface in the first direction until: the first set of one or more user interface elements is no longer displayed on the display; and the second set of one or more user interface elements vacates the second portion of the display and occupies the first portion of the display vacated by the first set of one or more user interface elements; and shifting the second user interface in the first direction until the second user interface, not previously displayed on the display, occupies the second portion of the display vacated by the second set of one or more user interface elements; while the first set of one or more user interface elements is not displayed, while the second set of one or more user interface elements is displayed, and while the second user interface is displayed, detecting a tap input on the touch-sensitive surface; and in response to detecting the tap input on the touch-sensitive surface, displaying the first set of one or more user interface elements and ceasing to display the second user interface while continuing to display the second set of one or more user interface elements, including: shifting the second user interface in a second direction, different from the first direction, until the second user interface is no longer displayed on the display; and shifting the first user interface in the second direction until: the second set of one or more user interface elements vacates the first portion of the display and occupies the second portion of the display vacated by the second user interface; and the first set of one or more user interface elements occupies the first portion of the display vacated by the second set of one or more user interface elements, wherein: shifting the first user interface in the first direction includes animating a transition of shifting the first user interface in the first direction; shifting the second user interface in the first direction includes animating a transition of shifting the second user interface in the first direction; shifting the first user interface in the second direction includes animating a transition of shifting the first user interface in the second direction; and shifting the second user interface in the second direction includes animating a transition of shifting the second user interface in the second direction. 2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the first direction is a downward direction. 3. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein: detecting the tap input on the touch-sensitive surface occurs after ceasing to display the first set of one or more user interface elements while continuing to display the second set of one or more user interface elements, and displaying the first set of one or more user interface elements while continuing to display the second set of one or more user interface elements, comprises re-displaying the first set of one or more user interface elements while continuing to display the second set of one or more user interface elements. 4. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the first set of one or more user interface elements comprises a set of user selectable icons. 5. The electronic device of claim 4 , wherein the set of user selectable icons correspond to a set of applications. 6. The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein selection of a user selectable icon of the set of user selectable icons causes the electronic device to run an application corresponding to the selected icon as a currently active application. 7. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the touch-sensitive surface includes a fingerprint sensor. 8. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the touch-sensitive surface and the display are integrated into a touch-sensitive display. 9. The electronic device of claim 8 , wherein the touch-sensitive display includes a fingerprint sensor. 10. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the second set of one or more user interface elements is associated with a first application. 11. The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the first application is a map application. 12. The electronic device of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for: in response to detecting movement of the first contact on the touch-sensitive surface in the first direction, displaying additional content of the second set of one or more user interface elements. 13. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein: shifting the second set of one or more user interface elements in the first direction comprises shifting the second set of one or more user interface elements in the first direction concurrently with shifting the first set of one or more user interface elements in the first direction; and shifting the first set of one or more user interface elements in the second direction comprises shifting the first set of one or more user interface elements in the second direction concurrently with shifting the second set of one or more user interface elements in the second direction. 14. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of an electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface and a display, the one or more programs including instructions for: displaying, on the display, a first user interface that includes a plurality of user interface elements including a first set of one or more user interface elements and a second set of one or more user interface elements, wherein: the first set of one or more user interface elements occupies a first portion of the display; the second set of one or more user interface elements occupies a second portion of the display different from the first portion; and a second user interface is not displayed on the display; while displaying the plurality of user interface elements, detecting movement of a first contact on the touch-sensitive surface in a first direction; in response to detecting movement of the first contact on the touch-sensitive surface in the first direction, ceasing to display the first set of one or more user interface elements while continuing to display the second set of one or more user interface elements, including: shifting the first user interface in the first direction until: the first set of one or more user interface elements is no longer displayed on the display; and the second set of one or more user interface
