A display device includes a curved plastic substrate, a display element layer over a first surface of the plastic substrate, a thin film encapsulation layer over the display element layer, a light absorption layer curved in conformity with the plastic substrate, the light absorption layer being over a second surface of the plastic substrate, the second surface being opposite to the first surface, a cushion layer over a fourth surface of the light absorption layer, a third surface of the light absorption layer facing the plastic substrate, and the fourth surface of the light absorption layer being opposite the third surface, and an electrostatic shielding layer over the cushion layer, at least one of the cushion layer and the electrostatic shielding layer has a cut pattern in a thickness direction thereof.

What is claimed is: 1. A display device comprising: a flexible substrate including a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface; a plurality of display elements on the first surface of the flexible substrate; an encapsulation layer over the plurality of display elements; a first layer on the second surface of the flexible substrate and including a metal material; and a second layer including a resin material and disposed between the second surface of the flexible substrate and the first layer, the second layer including a patterning portion which has a depth in a thickness direction of the second layer. 2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the patterning portion of the second layer is substantially equal to a thickness of the second layer. 3. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first layer including a first patterning portion which has a first depth in a thickness direction of the first layer. 4. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the first depth of the first patterning portion is substantially equal to a thickness of the first layer. 5. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the first layer comprises two metal material portions which are spaced from each other with respect to the first patterning portion. 6. The display device of claim 5 , wherein the patterning portion of the second layer overlaps a metal material portion of the first layer. 7. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the second layer comprises a first portion and a second portion which are separated from each other with the patterning portion therebetween. 8. The display device of claim 7 , further comprising: two resin portions separated from each other between the first portion and the second portion of the second layer, wherein the two resin portions are separated from the first portion and the second portion of the second layer. 9. The display device of claim 1 , wherein an edge of the first layer is offset from an edge of the flexible substrate. 10. The display device of claim 9 , wherein the edge of the flexible substrate protrudes in a direction away from the plurality of display elements and protrudes further than the edge of the first layer. 11. The display device of claim 9 , wherein the first layer includes a third surface facing the second surface of the flexible substrate and a fourth surface opposite to the third surface, and the second layer includes a fifth surface facing the second surface of the flexible substrate and a sixth surface opposite to the fifth surface, the sixth surface directly contacting the third surface of the first layer. 12. A display device comprising: a flexible substrate including a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface; a plurality of display elements on the first surface of the flexible substrate; an encapsulation layer over the plurality of display elements, the encapsulation layer including at least one inorganic encapsulation layer and at least one organic encapsulation layer; a first layer disposed on the second surface of the flexible substrate, the first layer including a first patterning portion which has a first depth in a thickness direction of the first layer; a second layer disposed between the flexible substrate and the first layer, and including a polymer, the second layer including a third surface facing the second surface of the substrate and a fourth surface opposite to the third surface; a first adhesive layer disposed on the third surface of the second layer; and a third layer disposed between the flexible substrate and the first adhesive layer, the third layer including a polymer. 13. The display device of claim 12 , wherein the first layer includes a metal material. 14. The display device of claim 12 , wherein the first depth of the first patterning portion is substantially equal to a thickness of the first layer. 15. The display device of claim 12 , wherein the first layer comprises two material portions which are spaced from each other with respect to the first patterning portion. 16. The display device of claim 15 , further comprising: a second adhesive layer on the fourth surface of the second layer, the second adhesive layer being between the first layer and second layer. 17. The display device of claim 16 , wherein the second adhesive layer directly contacts the fourth surface of the second layer and surfaces of the two material portions. 18. The display device of claim 16 , further comprising: a third adhesive layer between the flexible substrate and the third layer. 19. The display device of claim 18 , wherein the third adhesive layer directly contacts the flexible substrate and the third layer. 20. The display device of claim 12 , wherein the first adhesive layer directly contacts the third surface of the second layer. 21. The display device of claim 1 , further comprising: a display area comprising a flat display area and a curved display area surrounding two or more ends of the flat display area; and a curved non-display area surrounding at least a portion of the curved display area; wherein the flexible substrate comprises one or more ends curved according to the curved non-display area. 22. The display device of claim 21 , wherein the first layer and the second layer each have an end that does not overlap the one or more ends of the flexible substrate.
