Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An air flow controller for an air cleaner and an air cleaner are provided. The air flow controller may include a fan, and a housing, the fan being provided in the housing and the housing being movable from an initial horizontal position in which the air flow controller directs air flow in a vertical direction to an inclined position in which the air flow controller directs air flow in a diagonal direction.

What is claimed is: 1. An air cleaner, comprising: an air cleaning module including a fan; a circulator disposed at an upper side of the air cleaning module, the circulator being configured to adjust a direction of air that passes through the fan, the circulator including: an introduction grill into which air passing through the fan is introduced; a fan housing provided above the introduction grill; and a circulation fan provided within a space defined by the introduction grill and the fan housing; an air guide defining an air flow path spaced apart in a radial direction with respect to an axis of the fan to guide the air discharged in the radial direction from the fan upward; and a discharge guide provided on an upper side of the air guide and discharging air passing through the air guide in an upward direction, the discharge guide including: a discharge inner wall including an inner circumferential surface having a cylindrical shape; a discharge outer wall that surrounds the discharge inner wall; a discharge flow path defined between an inner circumferential surface of the discharge outer wall and an outer circumferential surface of the discharge inner wall and passing air flowing upward by the air flow path; and a discharge grill disposed in the discharge flow path, the discharge grill being extended from the outer circumferential surface of the discharge inner wall to the inner circumferential surface of the discharge outer wall so as to discharge the air of the discharge flow path in the upward direction, wherein the discharge grill has a concave shape in a downward direction, and wherein the introduction grill has a concave shape in the downward direction to be received in a concave space defined by the discharge grill at a position corresponding to an upward direction of the discharge grill, wherein the air guide further includes: a cylindrical outer wall forming an outer circumferential surface of the air guide; a cylindrical inner wall positioned at an inside of the cylindrical outer wall and forming an inner circumferential surface of the air guide; and a guide rib disposed in the air flow path, the guide rib being configured to extend longitudinally and guide the air discharged from the fan to flow upward, wherein the air flow path is defined between an inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical outer wall and an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical inner wall. 2. The air cleaner according to claim 1 , wherein the circulator rotates a clockwise direction or a counterclockwise direction with respect to the axis of the fan. 3. The air cleaner according to claim 2 , wherein the circulator further includes a rotation guide provided under a center portion of the introduction grill to guide rotation of the circulator in the clockwise direction or the counterclockwise direction, and wherein the center portion of the introduction grill is disposed so as to correspond an inner space of the discharge inner wall. 4. The air cleaner according to claim 1 , wherein the air guide further includes a motor accommodating portion that extends downward from the cylindrical inner wall, the motor accommodation portion being configured to accommodate a fan motor of the fan. 5. The air cleaner according to claim 4 , wherein the motor accommodating portion has a bowl shape to define a space in which the fan motor is provided. 6. The air cleaner according to claim 4 , wherein the rotation guide includes a first gear motor generating a drive force and a first gear rotatably coupled to the first gear motor. 7. The air cleaner according to claim 6 , wherein the air guide further includes a rack provided at the motor accommodating portion to communicate with the first gear, wherein the rack is configured to guide rotation of the circulator in the clockwise direction or the counterclockwise direction. 8. The air cleaner according to claim 7 , wherein the air guide further includes a shaft guide groove into which a gear shaft of the first gear is inserted, the shaft guide groove having an arc shape. 9. The air cleaner according to claim 3 , wherein the discharge guide further includes a rotation guide plate coupled to the discharge inner wall and having a shaft inserting portion. 10. The air cleaner according to claim 9 , wherein the circulator further includes a rotational shaft inserted into the shaft inserting portion, to provide a rotational center in the clockwise direction or the counterclockwise direction, with respect to the axis of the fan. 11. The air cleaner according to claim 1 , wherein the circulator is provided to be movable by up and down rotation between a laid-out state and an erected state, and wherein, when the laid-out state, the introduction grill is aligned so as to correspond vertically to the discharge grill, and is arranged to be received in the concave space defined by the discharge grill. 12. The air cleaner according to claim 11 , wherein the circulator further includes a rotation guide coupled to a center portion of the introduction grill and slidingly moving the circulator up and down, and wherein the introduction grill is received in the concave space when in the laid-out state. 13. The air cleaner according to claim 1 , wherein the guide rib includes a plurality of guide ribs arranged in a circumferential direction with respect to a center of the air guide. 14. The air cleaner according to claim 1 , wherein the air guide further includes a rack provided on the cylindrical inner wall of the air guide. 15. The air cleaner according to claim 14 , wherein the rack extends roundly in a circumferential direction of the air guide. 16. The air cleaner according to claim 9 , wherein the rotation guide plate extends partially along the circumferential direction of the discharge inner wall to form a space where the rack and the first gear are coupled. 17. The air cleaner according to claim 9 , wherein the rotation guide plate extends along a circumferential direction of the discharge inner wall to form a space in which the rack and the first gear are coupled and a space in which a bearing provided in the circulator moves. 18. The air cleaner according to claim 9 , wherein the rotation guide further includes a bearing that supports rotation in the clockwise direction or a counterclockwise direction of the circulator. 19. The air cleaner according to claim 18 , wherein the rotation guide plate includes a bearing groove formed in a circumferential direction to insert the bearing.
