A gear device includes a first gear, a second gear, and a third gear, a stopper plate, and a housing. The second gear is offset eccentrically when the first gear is rotated. The third gear is rotated at a slower speed than the first gear when the second gear is offset eccentrically. The stopper plate is engaged with the second gear thereby restricting rotational movement of the second gear while permitting linear movement of the second gear. The housing accommodates the stopper plate in a state restricting rotational movement of the stopper plate while permitting linear movement of the stopper plate. The stopper plate includes an arm extending in a linear movement direction of the stopper plate. The housing includes an accommodation pit accommodating the arm. The arm includes a branching portion. The accommodation pit includes a projected wall arranged in the branching portion.

The invention claimed is: 1. A gear device, comprising: a first gear; a second gear offset eccentrically when the first gear is rotated; a third gear rotated at a speed slower than a rotation speed of the first gear when the second gear is offset eccentrically; a stopper plate engaged with the second gear through a fitting structure thereby restricting rotational movement of the second gear while permitting linear movement of the second gear; and a housing that accommodates the stopper plate in a state restricting rotational movement of the stopper plate while permitting linear movement of the stopper plate, wherein: the stopper plate includes an arm extending in a linear movement direction of the stopper plate; the housing includes an accommodation pit that accommodates the arm; the arm includes a branching portion branched into two or more portions; the accommodation pit includes a projected wall arranged in the branching portion, the accommodation pit of the housing includes a guide that guides the arm of the stopper plate when the arm is arranged in the accommodation pit; the projected wall includes a proximal portion located toward a bottom wall of the housing and a distal portion located away from the bottom wall; and the guide includes sloped surfaces arranged on the distal portion of the projected wall. 2. The gear device according to claim 1 , wherein: the accommodation pit includes a peripheral wall; and the peripheral wall includes the guide. 3. The gear device according to claim 2 , wherein: the projected wall includes a first projected wall, extending continuously from the peripheral wall, and a second projected wall, extending continuously from the first projected wall toward the branching portion of the arm; and a projecting height of the first projected wall is greater than a projecting height of the second projected wall and greater than a thickness of the arm.
