What is claimed is: 1. A mask system for delivering breathable gas at positive pressure to a patient for treatment of sleep disordered breathing, comprising: a frame having an opening formed therein and arranged to receive the breathable gas in use; an axis extending through the opening in the frame; a cushion connected to the frame, the cushion comprising silicone and configured to, in use, form a seal with the patient's face to deliver the breathable gas to an airway of the patient, an inner edge of the cushion defining a cushion aperture through which the breathable gas is delivered to the patient, the axis extending through the cushion aperture; the frame being formed of a material having increased rigidity as compared to the silicone material of the cushion; a fluid connector forming a gas passageway and configured to be disposed between the frame and an air delivery tube to, in use, convey the breathable gas from the air delivery tube towards the opening in the frame, an end portion of the fluid connector defining an aperture at a first end of the gas passageway; a shroud connected to the fluid connector; and a pair of elongate arms connected to the shroud and configured to extend, in use, upwardly and posteriorly along respective sides of the patient's face, each elongate arms having a slot formed therein to receive an end portion of the headgear strap, wherein the frame and the end portion of the fluid connector are arranged such that the axis extends through the aperture in the end portion of the fluid connector, wherein the fluid connector includes a plurality of vent holes formed therein for washout of exhaust gases, the plurality of vent holes being disposed along the end portion of the fluid connector in a spaced-apart arrangement forming an arc around the axis of the opening in the frame, wherein the plurality of vent holes formed in the fluid connector consists only of a single row of vent holes, wherein the plurality of vent holes includes a first vent hole, a second vent hole, a third vent hole, a fourth vent hole and a fifth vent hole arranged in series, the first vent hole, the second vent hole, the third vent hole, the fourth vent hole and the fifth vent hole all being disposed along a section of the end portion of the fluid connector that extends only half-way around a perimeter of the fluid connector, and wherein the mask system does not include a forehead support configured to engage the patient's forehead in use. 2. The mask system of claim 1 , further comprising the air delivery tube, wherein the fluid connector is connected to the air delivery tube. 3. The mask system of claim 2 , wherein the end portion of the fluid connector is a first end portion, the fluid connector having a second end portion connected to the air delivery tube. 4. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein the fluid connector comprises a material having increased rigidity as compared to the silicone material of the cushion. 5. The mask system of claim 4 , wherein the plurality of vent holes is formed through the material of the fluid connector. 6. The mask system of claim 5 , wherein the material of the fluid connector is polycarbonate or polypropylene. 7. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein the fluid connector comprises silicone, and the plurality of vent holes is formed through the silicone. 8. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein the cushion and the frame are molded to form an integrated component. 9. The mask system of claim 8 , wherein the cushion and the frame form a chemical bond. 10. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein the material of the frame is polycarbonate or polypropylene. 11. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein the cushion is a nasal cushion. 12. The mask system of claim 1 , further comprising: the air delivery tube, wherein the fluid connector is connected to the air delivery tube, wherein the fluid connector comprises a material having increased rigidity as compared to the silicone material of the cushion, wherein the plurality of vent holes is formed through the material of the fluid connector, wherein the cushion and the frame are molded to form an integrated component, and wherein the cushion is a nasal cushion. 13. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein each elongate arm comprises a material that is relatively rigid as compared to the silicone of the cushion. 14. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein the elongate arms are configured to stabilize the mask system, in use, by contacting the patient's face at the patient's cheeks. 15. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein each elongate arm has an arcuate shape and is configured to, in use, extend across and engage a respective one of the patient's cheeks while avoiding the patient's eyes. 16. The mask system of claim 1 , wherein each elongate arm is enveloped in a fabric material that is configured to contact the patient's skin in use, the fabric material being formed as a tube that surrounds the elongate arm. 17. The mask system of claim 16 , wherein the fluid connector comprises a material having increased rigidity as compared to the silicone material of the cushion, wherein the plurality of vent holes is formed through the material of the fluid connector. 18. The mask system of claim 17 , wherein the cushion and the frame are molded to form an integrated component. 19. The mask system of claim 1 , further comprising: wherein each elongate arm comprises a material that is relatively rigid as compared to the silicone of the cushion, wherein the elongate arms are configured to stabilize the mask system, in use, by contacting the patient's face at the patient's cheeks, wherein each elongate arm has an arcuate shape and is configured to, in use, extend across a respective one of the patient's cheeks while avoiding the patient's eyes, and wherein each elongate arm is enveloped in a fabric material that is configured to contact the patient's skin in use, the fabric material being formed as a tube that surrounds the elongate arm. 20. The mask system of claim 19 , further comprising the air delivery tube, wherein the fluid connector is connected to the air delivery tube, wherein the fluid connector comprises a material having increased rigidity as compared to the silicone material of the cushion, wherein the plurality of vent holes is formed through the material of the fluid connector, wherein the material of the fluid connector is polycarbonate or polypropylene, and wherein the cushion is a nasal cushion. 21.
