A cooking system includes a housing defining a hollow chamber configured to receive food. The housing has an upper portion defining an opening to said hollow chamber. A lid is movable relative to the housing between an open position and a closed position. The lid seals the opening to the hollow chamber when in the closed position. A portion of the lid is selectively positionable to form a pressure-tight heating volume between the hollow chamber and the portion of said lid. At least one heating element is associated with at least one of the housing and the lid. The at least one heating element is arranged within the pressure-tight heating volume.

What is claimed is: 1. A cooking assembly, comprising: a cooking device operable in a convective cooking mode and a steam cooking mode; a mode selector operably coupled to the cooking device, the mode selector being movable between a first position and a second position; and a user interface disposed on the cooking device, the user interface having first and second portions; wherein the cooking device is operable in the convective cooking mode when the mode selector is in the first position and the cooking device is operable in the steam cooking mode when the mode selector is in the second position; and wherein the second portion of the user interface is not activated when the mode selector is in the first position and the second portion of the user interface is activated when the mode selector is in the second position. 2. The cooking assembly of claim 1 , wherein the mode selector is movable to a third position different from the first position and the second position. 3. The cooking assembly of claim 2 , wherein, when the mode selector is in the third position, the cooking device is operable in a third cooking mode that includes a convective cooking operation and a steam cooking operation. 4. The cooking assembly of claim 2 , wherein the user interface includes a third portion that is operable when the mode selector is in the third position. 5. The cooking assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cooking device includes a ventilation system transformable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, wherein the ventilation system transforms from the open configuration to the closed configuration when the mode selector is moved from the first position to the second position. 6. The cooking assembly of claim 5 , wherein the ventilation system transforms from the closed configuration to the open configuration when the mode selector is moved from the second position to the first position. 7. The cooking assembly of claim 1 , wherein the user interface includes at least one common input located on the user interface, the at least one common input being operable when the mode selector is in the first position and when the mode selector is in the second position. 8. The cooking assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cooking device includes a reed switch operatively coupled to the mode selector, the reed switch being movable in response to movement of the mode selector, and wherein movement of the reed switch is configured to cause respective portions of the user interface to be energized for selection by a user. 9. A cooking assembly, comprising: a cooking device operable in a first cooking mode and a second cooking mode; a mode selector operably coupled to the cooking device, the mode selector being movable between a first position and a second position; a ventilation system, the ventilation system being arranged in an open configuration in the first cooking mode and a closed configuration during the second cooking mode; and a user interface disposed on the cooking device, the user interface having first and second portions; wherein the cooking device is operable in the first cooking mode when the mode selector is in the first position and the cooking device is operable in the second cooking mode when the mode selector is in the second position; wherein the second portion of the user interface is not activated in the first cooking mode and activated in the second cooking mode. 10. The cooking assembly of claim 9 , wherein the cooking device operates as a convection cooker in the first cooking mode and as a steam cooker in the second cooking mode. 11. The cooking assembly of claim 9 , wherein the cooking device is operable in a third cooking mode as a convection cooker and a steam cooker. 12. The cooking assembly of claim 11 , wherein the user interface has a third portion, the third portion being inactive in the first cooking mode and the second cooking mode and being active in the third cooking mode. 13. The cooking assembly of claim 9 , wherein the user interface includes at least one convection input configured to control the cooking device in the first cooking mode and at least one steam input configured to control the cooking device in the second cooking mode. 14. The cooking assembly of claim 11 , wherein, in the third cooking mode, the ventilation system is arranged in the open configuration when the cooking device is operated as a convection cooker and the ventilation system is arranged in the closed configuration when the cooking device is operated as a steam cooker. 15. The cooking assembly of claim 11 , wherein the ventilation system moves between the open configuration and the closed configuration in response to movement of the mode selector between the first position and the second position.
