A method of calibrating a device for measuring the concentration of creatinine using one or more calibration solutions, the method comprising: receiving concentrations at an initial time of creatine, Cr, and/or creatinine, Crn, of the one or more calibration solutions; receiving outputs of the measuring device at the end time; calculating the concentration of Cr and/or Crn in the calibration solutions at an end time using a temperature model, wherein the temperature model indicates changes in temperature of the calibration solutions from the initial time to the end time; and determining a relationship between the outputs of the measuring device and the calculated concentrations of Cr and/or Crn.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for recalibrating a measuring device for measuring a concentration of creatinine in a solution using one or more calibration solutions, the method comprising: providing the measuring device for determining the concentration of creatinine in the solution, wherein the measuring device comprises a sensor having a sensitivity in need of recalibration; providing the one or more calibration solutions comprising a creatine (Cr) calibration solution and/or a creatinine (Crn) calibration solution for the sensor; receiving concentrations at an initial time of Cr and/or Crn in the one or more calibration solutions; receiving outputs of the measuring device at an end time; calculating the concentration of Cr and/or Crn in the one or more calibration solutions at the end time using a two-temperature temperature model, rate equations for an equilibrium reaction of Cr and Crn, and the Arrhenius equation, wherein the two-temperature temperature model is determined by receiving measurements of one or more changes in temperature of the one or more calibration solutions from one or more temperature probes from the initial time to the end time; determining the sensitivity of the sensor based on a relationship between the outputs of the measuring device and the calculated concentration of Cr and/or Crn, and recalibrating the sensitivity of the sensor for subsequent determination of the concentration of Cr and/or Crn in a sample. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is for measuring creatine in the one or more calibration solutions. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is for measuring creatinine in the one or more calibration solutions. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is for measuring creatine and creatinine in the one or more calibration solutions. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the measuring device is an amperometric measuring device. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein said received measurements are recorded measurements. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein said determining the two-temperature temperature model comprises calibrating the received measurements of the one or more changes in temperature with a second temperature probe. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining a relationship between the outputs of the measuring device and the calculated concentration of Cr and/or Crn comprises calculating sensor sensitivities of the measuring device. 9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising receiving additional temperature measurements after the end time and updating the calculated sensor sensitivities of the measuring device using the additional temperature measurements received after the end time. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the end time is greater than 14 days after the initial time. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the received measurements are recorded by the one or more temperature probes at regular intervals from the initial time to the end time. 12. A computer readable medium comprising instructions which when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to operate in accordance with the method as claimed in claim 1 . 13. An electronic device comprising: one or more processors; and memory comprising instructions which when executed by one or more of the one or more processors cause the electronic device to operate in accordance with the method claimed in claim 1 .
