Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Disclosed is a positive electrode material for a lithium secondary battery. The positive electrode material includes a positive electrode active material formed of Li—[Mn—Ti]-M-O-based material including a transition metal (M) to enable reversible intercalation and deintercalation of lithium and molybdenum oxide. The positive electrode active material is coated with the molybdenum oxide to form a coating layer on a surface thereof.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A positive electrode material for a lithium secondary battery, consisting of: a positive electrode active material formed of Li—[Mn—Ti]-M-O-based material comprising a transition metal (M) to enable reversible intercalation and deintercalation of lithium, and a coating layer comprising molybdenum oxide is formed on the positive electrode active material, wherein the positive electrode active material comprises Li 1.25 +y[Mn 0.45 Ti 0.35 ] 0.975 M 0.025 O 2 and the coating layer comprises Li x MoO z , wherein x, y, and z are satisfying numerical ranges of 0≤x≤6, −0.02≤y≤0.02, and 2≤z≤4, wherein the transition metal (M) is selected from the group consisting of W, Cr, Al, Ni, Co, V, and Zn. 2. The positive electrode material of claim 1 , wherein a weight of the coating layer is about 0.1 wt % to 20 wt % based on a weight of the positive electrode active material. 3. The positive electrode material of claim 1 , wherein a weight of the coating layer is about 1 wt % to 10 wt % based on a weight of the positive electrode active material. 4. A lithium secondary battery comprising: a positive electrode comprising the positive electrode material consisting of the positive electrode active material and the coating layer of claim 1 ; a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode active material; a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and an electrolyte. 5. A vehicle comprising a battery of claim 4 .
