A control arrangement for an entrance system has one or more movable door members and an automatic door operator for causing movements of the one or more movable door members between closed and open positions. The door members comprise one or more swing doors. The control arrangement comprises a controller and a plurality of sensors. Each sensor is connected to the controller and is configured to monitor a respective zone at the entrance system for presence or activity of a person or object. Each sensor has an active mode and an inactive mode, wherein the sensor consumes no electric power in the inactive mode or substantially less electric power in the inactive mode than in the active mode. The controller is configured to determine a current operational state of the entrance system among a plurality of possible operational states, and selectively cause at least one of the sensors to be in its active mode or in its inactive mode depending on the determined current operational state of the entrance system.

The invention claimed is: 1. A swing door entrance system comprising: at least one swing door; an automatic door operator for causing movements of the at least one swing door between closed and open positions; and a control arrangement comprising: a controller; and a plurality of sensors, each sensor being connected to the controller and being configured to monitor a respective zone near the at least one swing door, wherein the plurality of sensors includes: at least one activity sensor, wherein the at least one activity sensor, in a closed state or a closing state of the at least one swing door, detects when a person or object approaches the at least one swing door and triggers an opening state for opening the at least one swing door and at least one presence sensor, wherein the at least one presence sensor detects when the person or object occupies a space near the at least one swing door towards the closed position during a closing state of the at least one swing door or towards the open position during the opening state of the at least one swing door, wherein each sensor has an active mode and an inactive mode, wherein each sensor consumes no electric power in the inactive mode or substantially less electric power in the inactive mode than in the active mode; and wherein the controller: determines a current operational state of the at least one swing door among a plurality of operational states; and in response to the at least one swing door being in an open operational state, causes the at least one activity sensor to be in the active mode and the at least one presence sensor to be in the inactive mode, wherein the at least one presence sensor comprises a first door presence sensor to detect when the person or object occupies a first space near a first side of the at least one swing door when the swing door is being moved towards the open position and a second door presence sensor to detect when the person or object occupies a second space near a second side of the at least one swing door when the swing door is being moved into the second space towards the closed position, and wherein the first door presence sensor detects the person or object in the first space when the at least one swing door is being moved towards the open position, and halts or reverses an ongoing opening movement of the at least one swing door. 2. The swing door entrance system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the controller of the control arrangement is further configured to: when the at least one swing door is in the closed state or an open state, cause the at least one activity sensor to be in the active mode and the at least one presence sensor to be in the inactive mode; when the at least one swing door is in the opening state, cause the at least one activity sensor and at least one of the at least one presence sensor to be in the inactive mode; and when the at least one swing door is in the closing state, cause the at least one activity sensor and at least one of the at least one presence sensor to be in the active mode. 3. A method of operating the swing door entrance system of claim 2 comprising the steps of: determining that the at least one swing door is in the closed state or an open state; and selectively causing the at least one activity sensor to be in the active mode and the at least one presence sensor to be in the inactive mode. 4. A method of operating the swing door entrance system of claim 2 comprising the steps of: determining that the at least one swing door is in the opening state; and selectively causing the at least one activity sensor and at least one of the at least one presence sensor to be in the inactive mode. 5. A method of operating the swing door entrance system of claim 2 comprising the steps of: determining that the at least one swing door is in the closing state; and selectively causing the at least one activity sensor and at least one of the at least one presence sensor to be in the active mode. 6. The swing door entrance system of claim 1 , wherein, when the at least one swing door is being moved towards the open position the second door presence sensor is in the inactive mode. 7. A method of operating the swing door entrance system of claim 1 comprising the steps of: determining that the current operational state is the open operational state; and selectively causing at least one activity sensor to be in the active mode and the at least one presence sensor to be in the inactive mode. 8. A method for operating the swing door entrance system of claim 1 comprising the steps of detecting, by the first door presence sensor, that the person or object is in the first space when the at least one swing door is being moved towards the open position; halting or reversing the ongoing opening movement of the at least one swing door; and inactivating the second door presence sensor. 9. A swing door entrance system comprising: at least one swing door; an automatic door operator for causing movements of the at least one swing door between closed and open positions; and a control arrangement comprising: a controller; and a plurality of sensors, each sensor being connected to the controller and being configured to monitor a respective zone near the at least one swing door, wherein the plurality of sensors includes: at least one activity sensor, wherein the at least one activity sensor, in a closed state or a closing state of the at least one swing door, detects when a person or object approaches the at least one swing door and triggers an opening state for opening the at least one swing door and at least one presence sensor, wherein the at least one presence sensor detects when the person or object occupies a space near the at least one swing door towards the closed position during a closing state of the at least one swing door or towards the open position during the opening state of the at least one swing door, wherein each sensor has an active mode and an inactive mode, wherein each sensor consumes no electric power in the inactive mode or substantially less electric power in the inactive mode than in the active mode; and wherein the controller: determines a current operational state of the at least one swing door among a plurality of operational states; and in response to the at least one swing door being in an open operational state, causes the at least one activity sensor to be in the active mode and the at least one presence sensor to be in the inactive mode, wherein the at least one presence sensor comprises a first door presence sensor to detect when the person or object occupies a first space near a first side of the at least one swing door when the swing door is being moved towards the open position and a second door presence sensor to detect when the person or object occupies a second space near a second side of the at least one swing door when the swing door is being moved into the second space towards the closed position and, wherein the second door presence sensor detects that the person or object in the second space when the swing door is being moved towards the closed position and halts or reverses of an ongoing closing movement of the at least one swing door. 10. The swing door entrance system of claim 9 , wherein, when the at least one swing door is being moved toward the closed position, the first door presence sensor is in the inactive mode. 11. A method for operating the swing door entrance system of claim 9 , comprising the steps of: detecting, by the second door presence sensor, that the person or object occupies the second space when the swing door is being moved towards the closed position; halting or reversing the
