We claim: 1. A mobile robot configured for delivering items to delivery recipients, the mobile robot comprising: a body comprising an item compartment, wherein the item compartment comprises: a first section configured to hold at least one first item; a second section configured to hold at least one second item; a separator configured to separate the first section and the second section; at least one temperature control component configured to maintain at least one of: a temperature exceeding ambient temperature in the second section; and/or a temperature below that of the second section in the first section. 2. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the first section and the second section are arranged such that the second section is on top of the first section. 3. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the first item is a cooled and/or temperature-neutral item and wherein the second item is a heated item. 4. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the items are consumable items. 5. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the separator comprises the temperature control component. 6. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein at least part of the separator is transparent. 7. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the temperature control component comprises a passive temperature control component. 8. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the temperature control component comprises an active temperature control component. 9. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the second section comprises a larger horizontal cross-section than the first section. 10. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the maximum substantially horizontal cross-section of the item compartment is at least a fourth larger than the minimum substantially horizontal cross-section of the item compartment. 11. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein the item compartment comprises a removable compartment and wherein the removable compartment comprises a basket configured to fit into the body of the mobile robot. 12. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , further configured to grant access to the item compartment to a delivery recipient and wherein the mobile robot is configured to generate an alert upon detecting an item or items remaining in the item compartment after granting access to the item compartment to a delivery recipient. 13. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , further comprising at least one sensor configured to detect presence of the items in at least one of the first section and the second section, and wherein the sensor comprises at least one or a combination of: a visual camera; a thermographic camera; a weight sensor; a capacitive sensor; and/or an infrared sensor. 14. The mobile robot according to claim 1 , wherein a temperature difference between the second section and the first section is at least 10° C. 15. A method for delivering items to delivery recipients using a mobile robot, the method comprising: providing the mobile robot comprising a body comprising an item compartment, wherein the item compartment comprises a first section and a second section; placing at least one first item into the first section of the item compartment; placing a separator between the first section and the second section; placing a second item into the second section of the item compartment; the mobile robot traveling to a delivery location; and while traveling, using a temperature control component to maintain at least one of: a temperature exceeding ambient temperature in the second section; and/or a temperature below that of the second section in the first section. 16. The method according to claim 15 , wherein the first section and the second section are arranged such that the second section is on top of the first section. 17. The method according to claim 15 , wherein the first item is a cooled and/or temperature-neutral item and wherein the second item is a heated item. 18. The method according to claim 15 , wherein the items are consumable items. 19. The method according to claim 16 , further comprising notifying a delivery recipient that the separator should be removed to access the first section. 20. The method according to claim 15 , further comprising the mobile robot granting access to the items after arriving at the delivery location. 21. The method of claim 15 , wherein the temperature control component is an active temperature control component and wherein the method further comprises actively controlling the temperature in at least one of the first section and the second section while traveling to the delivery location. 22. The method according to claim 21 , further comprising ceasing to actively control the temperature in at least one of the first section and the second section after delivering the items. 23. The method according to claim 22 , further comprising detecting that the items have been removed before stopping active temperature control. 24. The method according to claim 15 , further comprising notifying a delivery recipient after detecting that at least one item remains in the item compartment.
