Sole structures including a plate including a first polyolefin resin, and an edge portion comprising a second resin are disclosed herein. The edge portion is more flexible or less rigid than the plate. Articles of footwear formed from the sole structures are also provided. Methods of making the polyolefin resin compositions, plates, edge portions, sole structures, and articles of footwear are also provided. In some aspects, the first polyolefin resin composition includes an effective amount of a polymeric resin modifier.

We claim: 1. A sole structure for an article of footwear, the sole structure comprising: a plate comprising a first polyolefin resin, the plate having a first side and a second side and a perimeter, wherein the first side is configured to be ground-facing when the plate is a component of an article of footwear; and an edge portion comprising a second polyolefin resin that is different from the first polyolefin resin, the edge portion disposed only on at least a portion of the perimeter in a plan view; wherein the first polyolefin resin comprises a polymeric component comprising: a polypropylene copolymer; and an effective amount of a polymeric resin modifier; and wherein the second polyolefin resin comprises a polymeric component that is substantially similar to the polymeric component of the first polyolefin resin, except the polymeric component of the second polyolefin resin comprises a greater concentration of the polymeric resin modifier than the polymeric component of the first polyolefin resin, such that a flexural modulus of the edge portion is at least 10 percent lower than a flexural modulus of the plate. 2. The sole structure of claim 1 , wherein the polypropylene copolymer is a random copolymer of ethylene and propylene having an ethylene repeat unit content of about 1 percent to about 5 percent based on the total weight of the polypropylene copolymer. 3. The sole structure of claim 1 , wherein the polymeric resin modifier is a copolymer comprising isotactic propylene repeat units and ethylene repeat units having an ethylene repeat unit content of about 10 percent to about 15 percent by weight based upon a total weight of the polymeric resin modifier. 4. The sole structure of claim 3 , wherein the ethylene repeat units have an ethylene repeat unit content of about 10 percent to about 15 percent by weight based upon a total weight of the polymeric resin modifier. 5. The sole structure of claim 1 , wherein the effective amount of the polymeric resin modifier is from about 5 percent to about 30 percent by weight based upon a total weight of the resin composition. 6. The sole structure of claim 1 , wherein the edge portion has a flexural modulus that is at least 25 percent lower than a flexural modulus of the plate. 7. The sole structure of claim 1 , wherein the edge portion is integral with the plate. 8. The sole structure of claim 1 , further comprising a chassis operably coupled with the plate, wherein the chassis comprises the edge portion. 9. The sole structure of claim 1 , wherein the plate, the edge portion, or both, have a decorative portion that is colored or printed or both colored and printed. 10. The sole structure of claim 1 , wherein the edge portion has a width of from about 0.25 millimeter to about 25 millimeters. 11. An article of footwear comprising: an upper operably coupled with a sole structure, the sole structure comprising: a plate comprising a first polyolefin resin, the plate having a first ground-facing side, a second side, and a perimeter; and an edge portion comprising a second polyolefin resin that is different from the first polyolefin resin, the edge portion disposed only on at least a portion of the perimeter in a plan view; wherein the first polyolefin resin comprises a polymeric component comprising: a polypropylene copolymer; and an effective amount of a polymeric resin modifier; and wherein the second polyolefin resin comprises a polymeric component that is substantially similar to the polymeric component of the first polyolefin resin, except the polymeric component of the second polyolefin resin comprises a greater concentration of the polymeric resin modifier than the polymeric component of the first polyolefin resin, such that a flexural modulus of the edge portion is at least 10 percent lower than a flexural modulus of the plate. 12. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the polypropylene copolymer is a random copolymer of ethylene and propylene having an ethylene repeat unit content of about 1 percent to about 5 percent based on the total weight of the polypropylene copolymer. 13. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the polymeric resin modifier is a copolymer comprising isotactic propylene repeat units and ethylene repeat units having an ethylene repeat unit content of about 10 percent to about 15 percent by weight based upon a total weight of the polymeric resin modifier. 14. The article of footwear of claim 13 , wherein the ethylene repeat units have an ethylene repeat unit content of about 10 percent to about 15 percent by weight based upon a total weight of the polymeric resin modifier. 15. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the effective amount of the polymeric resin modifier is from about 5 percent to about 30 percent by weight based upon a total weight of the resin composition. 16. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the plate, the edge portion, or both are mechanically bonded to the upper. 17. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the edge portion has a width of from about 0.25 millimeter to about 25 millimeters. 18. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the edge portion has a flexural modulus that is at least 25 percent lower than a flexural modulus of the plate. 19. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein a decorative textile or film is disposed on an interior surface of the plate or edge portion, or both. 20. The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the edge portion has a textured surface.
