What is claimed is: 1. A bearing pad assembly for a telescopic side arm of a refuse vehicle, the bearing pad assembly comprising: a bearing pad securable to a first boom of the side arm by a fastener; a shim positionable between the bearing pad and the side arm to adjust the bearing pad with respect to a second boom of the side arm, the shim comprising an elongated slot between two legs, a width of the elongated slot configured to accommodate the fastener; and a bracket configured to receive and support the bearing pad, the bracket comprising an inner wall contoured to the bearing pad. 2. The bearing pad assembly of claim 1 , wherein the bearing pad defines at least one hole configured to receive the fastener. 3. The bearing pad assembly of claim 2 , wherein the elongated slot is configured to be aligned with the at least one hole when the bearing pad is secured to the first boom. 4. The bearing pad assembly of claim 1 , comprising a tab extending from a frame of the bracket. 5. The bearing pad assembly of claim 4 , wherein the fastener is a first fastener, and wherein the tab defines at least one aperture configured to receive a second fastener to retain the bracket on the first boom of the side arm. 6. The bearing pad assembly of claim 4 , wherein a width of the frame of the bracket is larger than a width of the tab. 7. The bearing pad assembly of claim 1 , wherein the bracket is configured to contact at least a portion of the shim. 8. The bearing pad assembly of claim 1 , wherein the shim has a U-shape formed by the two legs connected by a web. 9. The bearing pad assembly of claim 8 , wherein the web includes a tab. 10. A bearing pad assembly for a telescopic side arm of a refuse vehicle, the bearing pad assembly comprising: a bearing pad securable to a first boom of the side arm by a fastener, the bearing pad defining at least one hole configured to receive the fastener; a shim positionable between the bearing pad and the side arm to adjust the bearing pad with respect to a second boom of the side arm, the shim comprising an elongated slot between two legs, a width of the slot configured to accommodate the fastener; a bracket configured to receive and support the bearing pad, the bracket comprising an inner wall contoured to the bearing pad; and a tab extending from a frame of the bracket, wherein the elongated slot is configured to be aligned with the at least one hole when the bearing pad is secured to the first boom. 11. The bearing pad assembly of claim 10 , wherein the fastener is a first fastener, and wherein the tab defines at least one aperture configured to receive a second fastener to retain the bracket on the first boom of the side arm. 12. The bearing pad assembly of claim 11 , wherein a width of the frame of the bracket is larger than a width of the tab. 13. The bearing pad assembly of claim 10 , wherein the bracket is configured to contact at least a portion of the shim. 14. The bearing pad assembly of claim 10 , wherein the shim has a U-shape formed by the two legs connected by a web. 15. The bearing pad assembly of claim 14 , wherein the tab is a first tab, and wherein the web includes a second tab.
