A biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate comprising an inorganic barrier layer against permeation.

What is claimed is: 1. A biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate comprising: a) a biodegradable and recyclable paper layer having an outer surface and an inner surface; b) a first biodegradable polymeric layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said outer surface disposed on said inner surface of said biodegradable and recyclable paper layer; c) a first biodegradable primer layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said outer surface disposed on said inner surface of said biodegradable polymeric layer; d) An inorganic barrier layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said outer surface disposed on said inner surface of said biodegradable primer layer; wherein the inorganic barrier layer comprises at least one of aluminum, aluminum oxide or silicon oxide; e) a second biodegradable primer layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said inner surface disposed on said inner surface of said inorganic barrier layer; f) a second biodegradable polymeric layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said inner surface disposed on said outer surface of said biodegradable primer layer and which acts as a heat seal layer; wherein the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate is recyclable and exhibits a recyclable percentage of at least 50 percent, as determined by test method PTS-RH:021/97 (Draft October 2019); and wherein the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate has at least 60% biodegradation within 60 days in the OECD 301B test. 2. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein the primer of the biodegradable primer layers is at least one of a bio-ORMOCER®, a polyvinyl alcohol lacquer or a shellac lacquer. 3. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the biodegradable polymeric layers comprise at least one biodegradable polymer that is at least one of polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene oxide, methylcellulose, sodium alginate, polyhydroxyalkanoates, polybutyl succinate adipate, polybutylene adipate-co-terephthalate, polylactic acid, thermoplastic starch or blends thereof. 4. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 3 , wherein the polyvinyl alcohol is either a homopolymer or copolymer, either partially or fully hydrolyzed. 5. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 4 , wherein the polyvinyl alcohol is a homopolymer with a degree of hydrolyzation from about 70% to about 100%. 6. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 3 , wherein the polyvinyl alcohol has an average molecular weight from about 20,000 Da to about 150,000 Da. 7. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 3 , wherein the polyethylene oxide has an average molecular weight from about 50,000 Da to about 400,000 Da. 8. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 3 , wherein the methylcellulose has an average molecular weight from about 10,000 Da to about 100,000 Da. 9. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first biodegradable polymeric layer or the second biodegradable polymeric layer comprise at least one plasticizer. 10. The biodegradable and recyclable polymeric layer of claim 9 , wherein the plasticizer is at least one of glycerol, sorbitol, propylene glycol (PG), trimethylene glycol (PDO), trimethylolpropane (TMP), methylpropanediol (MPD), 2-methyl-1,3 propanediol (MPO), and mixtures thereof. 11. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein the basis weight of the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate is from about 20 to about 1000 g/m 2 . 12. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein the WVTR of the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate is from about 0.001 g/m 2 /day to about 50 g/m 2 /day when measured at 38° C. temperature and 50% relative humidity according to the ASTM method F1249-13 or E96. 13. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein the WVTR of the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate is from about 0.1 g/m 2 /day to about 100 g/m 2 /day when measured at 38° C. temperature and 90% relative humidity according to the ASTM method F1249-13 or E96. 14. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein the Grease Resistance Level of the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate is >12 according to the TAPPI T 559 cm-12 Grease resistance test for paper and paperboard. 15. The biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate of claim 1 , wherein the average thickness of the inorganic barrier layer is from about 2 nm to about 1000 nm. 16. The biodegradable and recyclable paper barrier laminate of claim 1 , wherein the biodegradable and recyclable paper comprises natural fibers comprising at least one of cellulose-based fibers, bamboo fibers, cotton, abaca, kenaf, sabai grass, flax, esparto grass, straw, jute, hemp, bagasse, milkweed floss fibers, pineapple leaf fibers, wood fibers, pulp fibers, or combinations thereof. 17. A biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate comprising: a) a biodegradable and recyclable paper layer having an outer surface and an inner surface; b) a first biodegradable polymeric layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said outer surface disposed on said inner surface of said biodegradable and recyclable paper layer; c) a first biodegradable primer layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said outer surface disposed on said inner surface of said biodegradable polymeric layer; wherein the inorganic barrier layer comprises at least one of aluminum, aluminum oxide or silicon oxide; d) an inorganic barrier layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said outer surface disposed on said inner surface of said biodegradable primer layer; e) a second biodegradable polymer layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, said inner surface disposed on said outer surface of said inorganic barrier layer and which acts as a heat seal layer; wherein the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate is recyclable and exhibits a recyclable percentage of at least 50 percent, as determined by test method PTS-RH:021/97 (Draft October 2019); and wherein the biodegradable and recyclable barrier paper laminate has at least 60% biodegradation within 60 days in the OECD 301B test. 18.
