Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An air management device may include three independently operated primary impellers 131, 131′, 131″, and drawn-in air is discharged through discharge ports 15′-1, 15′-2, 15′-3 provided in the front plate 15 of the housing 10. Louvers 141, 142, 143 installed downstream of the air flow and discharge ports 15′-1, 15′-2, 15′-3 may be independently opened or closed to provide discharge of the air to the surrounding environment. Further, at least one retractable or pop-up fan may be provided. The air management allows customization of air flow. The housing 10 of the furniture-type air management device may be installed on the floor of the livable space and may have a hexahedron shape that extends from side to side. A bottom inlet 11′ may be formed on the bottom plate 11 of the housing 10 facing the floor of the living space above a predetermined distance. The replaceable filter 300 may be installed to filter the air sucked through the bottom inlet 11′, and may be drawn in and out of the housing 10. A plurality of passage openings 302 may be formed in a filter frame 301, and filters 320, 330, and 340 are stacked over the passage openings 302.

What is claimed is: 1. An air management device comprising: a housing having a primary air flow space and a first secondary space, the primary air flow space extending from a first end to a second end in a longitudinal direction, the first secondary space disposed adjacent to the first end of the primary air flow space such that the primary air flow space is adjacent to the first secondary space in the longitudinal direction, the primary air flow space having at least one air passage to allow air flow through the primary air flow space, the primary air flow space having first and second discharge ports installed side-by-side in the longitudinal direction at an upper front section of the primary air flow space to discharge air, the air being at least one of filtered air or heat-exchanged air based on the air flow through the housing; first and second louvers installed downstream of the air flow to open or close the first and second discharge ports at the primary air flow space, and configured to be controlled independently with an angle of the air being discharged through the first and second discharge ports, respectively; first and second primary impellers to pressurize the air to create the air flow and to discharge the air through the first and second discharge ports at the primary air flow space; at least one discharge unit provided inside the first secondary space which is disposed adjacent to the first end of the primary air flow space such that the primary air flow space is adjacent to the first secondary space in the longitudinal direction, and configured to pop-up above or retract from an upper surface of the first secondary space which is parallel to an upper surface of the primary air flow space; a branch air flow passage to divert the air flow; a connection duct provided between the branch air flow passage and the at least one disharge unit at the first secondary space; and a damper configured to open or close the connection duct such that the air of the diverted air flow is delivered via the connection duct to the at least one discharge unit at the first secondary space when the damper is open. 2. The air management device of claim 1 , further comprising a primary impeller guide provided inside the housing having first and second primary impeller openings, each primary impeller opening having an inlet and an outlet, wherein the outlet is positioned to a corresponding discharge port at the primary air flow space. 3. The air management device of claim 2 , further comprising first and second louver motors and first and second motor blocks configured to couple the first and second louver motors to the housing. 4. The air management device of claim 3 , further comprising first and second installation grooves formed in the housing, the first and second motor blocks being inserted into the first and second installation groove, respectively, to mount the first and second louver motors to the housing. 5. The air management device of claim 4 , wherein each of the first and second louvers include at least one pivot bracket having a pivot axis hole for coupling to an output shaft of a corresponding louver motor to allow each of the first and second louvers to pivot to an open position or a closed position. 6. The air management device of claim 2 , wherein the primary impeller guide is made of a heat insulating material, and first and second impellers are installed, respectively, in the first and second primary openings. 7. The air management device of claim 2 , wherein the primary air flow space has a third discharge port formed in parallel with the first and second discharge ports, and the primary impeller guide includes a third primary impeller openings adjacent to the second primary impeller opening, and the air management device includes: a third louver provided adjacent to the second louver, and a third primary impeller provided adjacent to the second primary impeller. 8. The air management device of claim 7 , wherein branch air flow passages are formed in the primary impeller guide to divert the air flow passing through the first and third primary impeller openings. 9. The air management device of claim 8 , wherein the first, second and third primary impeller openings are formed in the primary impeller guide at positions corresponding to the first discharge port, the second discharge port, and the third discharge port, respectively. 10. The air management device of claim 9 , wherein the first, second and third primary impellers are installed in the first, second and third primary impeller openings, respectively, the first to third primary impellers being driven independently of each other, and the first, second, and third louvers for opening or closing the first, second, and third discharge ports being driven independently from the first, second and third primary impellers. 11. The air management device of claim 1 , wherein the damper to open or close the connection duct such that the air of the diverted air flow is delivered to the at least one discharge unit when at least one of the first primary impeller or the second primary impeller pressurizes the air and the damper is opened. 12.
