3beta, 17beta disubstituted steroidal compounds, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and pharmaceutical compositions thereof, are provided for the prevention and treatment of a variety of CNS-related conditions.

What is claimed is: 1. A compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof selected from the group consisting of: and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. 2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to claim 1 , and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 3. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein the compound has the structure: and wherein the absolute stereochemistry is as shown. 4. The pharmaceutically acceptable salt of a compound according to claim 1 , wherein the compound has the structure: and wherein the absolute stereochemistry is as shown. 5. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound according to claim 3 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 6. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the pharmaceutically acceptable salt according to claim 4 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 7.
