Provided herein is a fluidic cartridge having a body comprising a malleable material and a layer comprising a deformable material bonded to a surface of the body that seals one or more fluidic channels that communicate with one or more valve bodies formed in a surface of the body. The valve can be closed by applying pressure to the deformable material sufficient to crush and close off a fluidic channel in the body. Also provided are a cartridge interface configured to engage the cartridge. Also provided is a system including a cartridge interface and methods of using the cartridge and system.

What is claimed is: 1. An article comprising: (a) a body comprising a malleable and plastically deformable material and comprising: (i) a surface, (ii) one or more channels formed in the surface, and (iii) one or more valve bodies formed in the surface and in fluidic communication with the one or more channels, respectively, the one or more valve bodies comprising: (A) a segment of a respective channel of the one or more channels, the segment comprising a wall having a pair of ridges raised above the surface and a floor depressed into the surface; and (B) reliefs depressed into the surface and defining depressions that flank the ridges on two sides of the segment. 2. The article of claim 1 wherein the malleable and plastically deformable material comprises a plastic, a wax, or a soft metal. 3. The article of claim 1 wherein the malleable and plastically deformable material comprises a thermoplastic, a thermoset, a single component resin, or a multi-component resin. 4. The article of claim 1 wherein the malleable and plastically deformable material comprises polypropylene, polystyrene, polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polyester, polyamide, vinyl, poly(vinylchloride) (PVC), polycarbonate, polyurethane, polyvinyldiene chloride, cyclic olefin copolymer (COC), or any combination thereof. 5. The article of claim 1 wherein the body is injection molded or 3D printed. 6. The article of claim 1 wherein the surface is substantially defined in a plane. 7. The article of claim 1 wherein the respective channel of the one or more channels has at least one aspect no greater than any of 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm or 5 mm. 8. The article of claim 1 wherein the ridges have a height above the surface between about 50μ and about 300μ. 9. The article of claim 1 wherein the floor of the segment has a depth below the surface between about 50μ and about 300μ. 10. The article of claim 1 wherein the one or more valve bodies have a substantially oblong shape. 11. The article of claim 1 wherein the segment comprises a force concentration zone. 12. The article of claim 1 wherein the segment comprises a textured floor. 13. The article of claim 1 wherein the reliefs have a depth below the surface of between 100μ and 300μ. 14. The article of claim 1 wherein the one or more valve bodies have an area of no more than any of 100 mm 2 , 50 mm 2 , 25 mm 2 , 20 mm 2 , 15 mm 2 or 10 mm 2 . 15. A method of making an article comprising: (a) providing a body comprising a malleable and plastically deformable material and comprising: (i) a surface, (ii) one or more channels formed in the surface, and (iii) one or more valve bodies formed in the surface and in fluidic communication with the one or more channels, respectively, the one or more valve bodies comprising: (A) a segment of a respective channel of the one or more channels, the segment comprising a wall having a pair of ridges raised above the surface and a floor depressed into the surface; and (B) reliefs depressed into the surface and defining depressions that flank the ridges on two sides of the segment; (b) providing a layer comprising a deformable material; and (c) bonding the layer to the surface and the ridges, wherein bonding seals the one or more channels, the segment, and the reliefs. 16. The method of claim 15 wherein the body comprises a thermoplastic. 17. The method of claim 15 wherein the layer of deformable material comprises a heat seal. 18. The method of claim 17 wherein the bonding comprises applying heat and pressure to the heat seal against the surface sufficient to weld the heat seal against the ridges and areas of the surface flanking the one or more channels and the reliefs. 19. The method of claim 18 wherein the pressure is applied with a heated die.
