The present invention relates generally to a container that may be sealed and reclosed with a threaded closure. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods of manufacturing a metallic container having an opening with inwardly facing threads that are formed after a threaded closure is inserted at least partially into the opening. The container opening may be selectively sealed and reclosed with the threaded closure which releasably engages the container threads.

What is claimed is: 1. An apparatus to seal a metallic container having a neck portion that is unthreaded with a threaded closure, comprising: a first tool having a chuck configured to engage the metallic container, the first tool configured to apply a top-load to the threaded closure positioned in an opening of the metallic container, wherein the threaded closure comprises a closure body with an outer surface including closure threads, and wherein the metallic container includes a bottom portion, a sidewall portion, the neck portion that is unthreaded which extends upwardly from the sidewall portion, and the opening positioned opposite to the bottom portion; and a second tool configured to apply a force to an exterior surface of the neck portion of the metallic container to form container threads on the neck portion of the metallic container which have a geometric profile which substantially coincides with the closure threads of the threaded closure. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first tool comprises a pressure block. 3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first tool applies the top-load to an extension of the threaded closure, the extension projecting outwardly from the closure body. 4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second tool comprises a thread roller configured to contact the exterior surface of the container neck portion to press the container neck portion against the closure threads. 5. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the force applied by the thread roller to the exterior surface of the metallic container neck portion is less than about 3 lbs. 6. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the thread roller is operable to move vertically relative to a longitudinal axis of the metallic container. 7. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the thread roller is operable to rotate around a vertical axis extending through the thread roller. 8. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the thread roller is operable to rotate around the exterior surface of the metallic container neck portion. 9. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a mandrel operable to be inserted into an open chamber of the closure body. 10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the mandrel has a cylindrical exterior surface. 11. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the mandrel is operable to support the closure body when the force is applied to the exterior surface of the neck portion of the metallic container to form the container threads. 12. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the mandrel has an exterior diameter that is variable, wherein when the mandrel is inserted into the open chamber of the closure body the mandrel has a first exterior diameter, and wherein after the mandrel is positioned in the open chamber the mandrel expands to a second exterior diameter to contact an interior surface of the open chamber, the second exterior diameter being greater than the first exterior diameter. 13. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the mandrel comprises a plurality of individual sections operable to move inwardly and outwardly to adjust the exterior diameter of the mandrel. 14. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second tool presses the container neck portion into a valley of the closure threads. 15. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second tool is configured to form the container threads that include peaks that project inwardly from an interior surface of the neck portion and inwardly oriented valleys on the exterior surface of the neck portion, the valleys corresponding to the peaks. 16. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a second chuck is operable to press the threaded closure downwardly relative to a longitudinal axis of the metallic container. 17. The apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the second chuck is operable to rotate the threaded closure. 18. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is operable to position the closure body in the opening of the metallic container after the metallic container is filled with a beverage. 19. An apparatus to seal a metallic container having a neck portion that is unthreaded with a threaded closure, comprising: a first tool having a chuck, the first tool configured to apply a top-load to the threaded closure positioned in an opening of the metallic container, wherein the threaded closure comprises a closure body with an outer surface including closure threads, wherein the metallic container includes a bottom portion, a sidewall portion, the neck portion that is unthreaded which extends upwardly from the sidewall portion, and the opening positioned opposite to the bottom portion, wherein the chuck is operable to press the threaded closure downwardly relative to a longitudinal axis of the metallic container, and wherein the chuck is operable to rotate the threaded closure; and a second tool configured to apply a force to an exterior surface of the neck portion of the metallic container to form container threads on the neck portion of the metallic container which have a geometric profile which substantially coincides with the closure threads of the threaded closure. 20. An apparatus to seal a metallic container having a neck portion that is unthreaded with a threaded closure, comprising: a first tool configured to apply a top-load to the threaded closure positioned in an opening of the metallic container, wherein the threaded closure comprises a closure body with an outer surface including closure threads, and wherein the metallic container includes a bottom portion, a sidewall portion, the neck portion that is unthreaded and which extends upwardly from the sidewall portion, and the opening positioned opposite to the bottom portion; a second tool configured to apply a force to an exterior surface of the neck portion of the metallic container to form container threads on the neck portion of the metallic container which have a geometric profile which substantially coincides with the closure threads of the threaded closure; and a mandrel operable to be inserted into an open chamber of the closure body, wherein the mandrel has a cylindrical exterior surface, wherein the mandrel has an exterior diameter that is variable, wherein, when the mandrel is inserted into the open chamber of the closure body, the mandrel has a first exterior diameter, and wherein, after the mandrel is positioned in the open chamber, the mandrel expands to a second exterior diameter to contact an interior surface of the open chamber, the second exterior diameter being greater than the first exterior diameter.
