Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems and, more particularly, to systems that incorporate digital downloading jukebox features and improved user interfaces. For instance, a smart search may be provided, e.g., where search results vary based on the popularity of songs within the venue, in dependence on songs being promoted, etc. As another example, a tile-based approach to organizing groupings of songs is provided. Groupings may involve self-populating collections of songs that combine centrally-promoted songs, songs in a given genre that are popular across an audiovisual distribution network, and songs that are locally popular and match up with the given genre (e.g., because of shared attributes such as same or similar genre, artist, etc.). Different tile visual presentations also are contemplated, as are different physical jukebox designs. In certain example embodiments, a sealed core unit with the “brains” of the jukebox is insertable into a docking station.

What is claimed is: 1. A digital jukebox device, comprising: a display device; and front and rear body portions that are connectable to one another and that together, when connected, define an interior area sized and shaped to accommodate a removable core comprising control componentry of the digital jukebox device; wherein the front body portion includes upper and lower portions that are each detachable from the other front body portion and from the rear body portion and that, when connected to the rear body portion, that meet one another and is aligned on a same plane with one another, wherein the lower portion supports a payment device configuration, and the upper portion supporting the display device. 2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the control componentry includes a motherboard, audio mixer, amplifier, pre-amp, processor, memory, non-transitory computer readable media storing a catalog of songs, network interface card, and a display card. 3. The device according to claim 1 , wherein the removable core comprises a hole or opening configured for accommodating a latch provided in the digital jukebox devices interior. 4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the core componentry is configured to support a magnetically-held mobile electronics printed circuit board. 5. The device of claim 4 , wherein the interior is further configured to include a fan tray, wherein the fan tray incorporates support and a magnet that is configured to hold the mobile electronics printed circuit board. 6. The device of claim 1 , wherein the rear body portion is trapezoidal in shape when viewed from top and bottom plan views. 7. The device of claim 6 , wherein the rear body portion includes top and side panels that are at least partially reflective. 8. The device of claim 1 , wherein the rear body portion includes top and side panels that are at least partially reflective. 9. The device of claim 8 , further comprising one or more lights internal to the jukebox device and configured to illuminate the top and side panels. 10. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a camera and one or more LED flash elements. 11. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a hinge mechanism connecting the front and rear body portions to one another. 12. The device of claim 1 , wherein the rear body portion includes one or more cooling vents. 13. The device of claim 1 , being wall-mountable.
