Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for providing offline capabilities to customizable live applications in a cloud collaboration platform. The cloud collaboration platform may provide offline functions and a data application programming interface to devices connecting to the cloud collaboration platform. The offline capabilities allow devices to store data related to documents and customizable live applications in a local cache. The offline capabilities retrieve data from and store modifications to data within the local cache. The cloud collaboration platform may subsequently process the changes and determine if conflicts arise, resolving conflicts where appropriate and possible. The cloud collaboration platform may then determine a final state for a record, return the final state to the devices, and update the local caches.

What is claimed is: 1. A method, comprising: exposing, by one or more processors, a data API to a live application of a cloud collaboration platform to facilitate an offline mode on a device, wherein the live application is a customizable software application embedded in a document and creates a record comprising a sequence number and a record type using the data API; receiving, by the one or more processors, a first change to the record in the document from the device, wherein the device applies the first change to a local version of the record stored in a local cache; resolving, by the one or more processors, a conflict between the first change and a second change to the record in the document to determine a final state based on the sequence number and the record type, wherein the second change is received from a second device; and applying, by the one or more processors, the final state to the record in a data storage in the cloud collaboration platform. 2. The method of claim 1 , the resolving further comprising: when the first change and a third change can be applied without creating a conflict in the record, deriving, by the one or more processors, the final state by applying both the first change and the third change to the record. 3. The method of claim 1 , the resolving further comprising: determining, by the one or more processors, a selected change between the first change and the second change based on the sequence number; and deriving the final state by applying the selected change to the record. 4. The method of claim 1 , the resolving further comprising: when the record type is a record list, determining, by the one or more processors, that the first change and the second change impacted disparate records in the record list; and deriving, by the one or more processors, the final state by applying both the first change and the second change to the record. 5. The method of claim 1 , the resolving further comprising: when the record type is a rich text field, analyzing, by the one or more processors, the first change and the second change to determine a first impacted paragraph and a second impacted paragraph in the rich text field; and when the first impacted paragraph and the second impacted paragraph do not match, deriving, by the one or more processors, the final state by applying both the first change and the second change to the record. 6. The method of claim 1 , the resolving further comprising: when the record type is a rich text field, analyzing, by the one or more processors, the first change and the second change to determine a first impacted paragraph and a second impacted paragraph in the rich text field; and when the first impacted paragraph and the second impacted paragraph match, determining a selected change between the first change and the second change based on the sequence number and deriving the final state by applying the selected change to the record. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first change and the second change modify a property of the record. 8. A system, comprising: a memory; and at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to: expose a data API to a live application of a cloud collaboration platform to facilitate an offline mode on a device, wherein the live application is a customizable software application embedded in a document and creates a record comprising a sequence number and a record type using the data API; receive a first change to the record in the document from the device, wherein the device applies the first change to a local version of the record stored in a local cache; resolve a conflict between the first change and a second change to the record in the document to determine a final state based on the sequence number and the record type, wherein the second change is received from a second device; and apply the final state to the record in a data storage in the cloud collaboration platform. 9. The system of claim 8 , wherein to resolve the conflict, the at least one processor is further configured to: when the first change and a third change can be applied without creating a conflict in the record, derive the final state by applying both the first change and the third change to the record. 10. The system of claim 8 , wherein to resolve the conflict, the at least one processor is further configured to: determine a selected change between the first change and the second change based on the sequence number; and derive the final state by applying the selected change to the record. 11. The system of claim 8 , wherein to resolve the conflict, the at least one processor is further configured to: when the record type is a record list, determine that the first change and the second change impacted disparate records in the record list; and derive, by the one ore more processors, the final state by applying both the first change and the second change to the record. 12. The system of claim 8 , wherein to resolve the conflict, the at least one processor is further configured to: when the record type is a rich text field, analyze the first change and the second change to determine a first impacted paragraph and a second impacted paragraph in the rich text field; and when the first impacted paragraph and the second impacted paragraph do not match, derive the final state by applying both the first change and the second change to the record. 13. The system of claim 8 , wherein to resolve the conflict, the at least one processor is further configured to: when the record type is a rich text field, analyze the first change and the second change to determine a first impacted paragraph and a second impacted paragraph in the rich text field; and when the first impacted paragraph and the second impacted paragraph match, determine a selected change between the first change and the second change based on the sequence number and derive the final state by applying both the selected change to the record. 14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the first change and the second change modify a property of the record. 15. A non-transitory computer-readable device having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations comprising: exposing a data API to a live application of a cloud collaboration platform to facilitate an offline mode on a device, wherein the live application is a customizable software application embedded in a document and creates a record comprising a sequence number and a record type using the data API; receiving a first change to the record in the document from the device, wherein the device applies the first change to a local version of the record stored in a local cache; resolving a conflict between the first change and a second change to the record in the document to determine a final state based on the sequence number and the record type, wherein the second change is received from a second device; and applying the final state to the record in a data storage in the cloud collaboration platform. 16. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 15 , the resolving further comprising: when the first change and a third change can be applied without creating a conflict in the record, deriving the final state by applying both the first change and the third change to the record. 17. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 15 , the resolving further comprising: determining a selected change between the first change and the second change based on the sequen
