What is claimed is: 1. A cargo carrier, comprising: a base; and at least one shelf disposed on the base, the at least one shelf including: a bottom wall attached to the base; an inclined side wall connected to the bottom wall and extending beyond a footprint of the base; and a support surface connected to and extending from the inclined side wall; and a bracket having a first end connected to the base and second end connected to the at least one shelf. 2. The cargo carrier of claim 1 , wherein the support surface is disposed generally parallel to the base. 3. The cargo carrier of claim 1 , wherein the at least one shelf extends along a width of the base. 4. The cargo carrier of claim 3 , wherein a width of the at least one shelf is smaller than the width of the base. 5. The cargo carrier of claim 1 , wherein the at least one shelf further includes a wall extending from the support surface toward the bottom wall. 6. The cargo carrier of claim 5 , wherein the wall is generally perpendicular to the bottom wall. 7. The cargo carrier of claim 5 , wherein the at least one shelf further includes a seating member extending from the wall and abutting on the bottom wall. 8. The cargo carrier of claim 5 , wherein the bottom wall, the side wall, the wall, and the support surface are arranged such that a cross-section of the at least one shelf has a generally trapezoidal shape. 9. The cargo carrier of claim 1 , further including a support connected between the base and the inclined side wall. 10. The cargo carrier of claim 1 , wherein the at least one shelf includes a first shelf disposed adjacent one end of the base, and a second shelf disposed adjacent an opposite end of the base. 11. The cargo carrier of claim 1 , wherein the bracket is connected to the base and the at least one shelf with fasteners. 12. A cargo carrier, comprising: a base; a liner configured to be positioned on the base; and at least one shelf disposed adjacent one edge of the liner, the at least one shelf including: a bottom wall attached to the liner; an inclined side wall having a first edge connected to the liner and extending beyond a footprint of the liner; and a support surface spaced apart from the liner and connected to a second edge of the inclined side wall. 13. The cargo carrier of claim 12 , further including: a wall connecting the bottom wall and the support surface. 14. The cargo carrier of claim 13 , further including: an end wall connecting one end of the bottom wall and one end of the support surface. 15. The cargo carrier of claim 12 , wherein a length of the liner is smaller than a length of the base. 16. The cargo carrier of claim 12 , wherein a length of the liner is about equal to a length of the base. 17. The cargo carrier of claim 16 , wherein the at least one shelf includes a first shelf disposed adjacent one end of the liner and a second shelf disposed adjacent an opposite end of the liner. 18. The cargo carrier of claim 12 , wherein the support surface is disposed generally parallel to the bottom wall. 19. The cargo carrier of claim 12 , wherein the bottom wall is fixedly attached to the liner. 20. The cargo carrier of claim 12 , wherein the liner is removably attached to the base.
