Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Systems and methods for multi-directional visual browsing on an electronic device are described. In example embodiments, a primary result and a peripheral result are determined. A display layout based on attributes associated with the primary result and the peripheral result is generated. The display layout is then formatted into instructions, which will cause a device to render the display layout. The instructions are transmitted to the client device.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: generating a three-dimensional display layout that positions a second result in relation to a first result based on one or more attributes of the first result and one or more attributes of the second result; and causing presentation on a device of a visual user interface display having the three-dimensional display layout based on rendering instructions. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first result is a primary result. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second result is a peripheral result. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the second result is a peripheral result determined related to the primary result. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining the first result based on at least one of past purchase information or favorite entity information associated with an account of a user. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising formatting the three-dimensional display layout into rendering instructions. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining the second result based on relating the one or more attributes of the first result to the one or more attributes of the second result. 8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the one or more attributes of the second result and the one or more attributes of the first result include at least one associated category. 9. The method of claim 7 , wherein the one or more attributes of the second result and the one or more attributes of the first result include an associated brand. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second result comprises an accessory of an item corresponding to the first result. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first result comprises an upgrade determined based on past purchase information associated with an account of a user and the second result comprises an accessory. 12. A system comprising: one or more processors; and a tangible machine-readable storage medium storing instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to perform operations including: generating a three-dimensional display layout that positions a second result in relation to a first result based on one or more attributes of the first result and one or more attributes of the second result; and causing presentation on a device of a visual user interface display having the three-dimensional display layout based on rendering instructions. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the operations further include determining the first result based on at least one of past purchase information or favorite entity information associated with an account of a user. 14. The system of claim 12 , wherein the operations further include determining the second result based on relating the one or more attributes of the first result to the one or more attributes of the second result. 15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more attributes of the second result and the one or more attributes of the first result include at least one associated category. 16. The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more attributes of the second result and the one or more attributes of the first result include at least one associated brand. 17. The system of claim 12 , wherein the second result comprises an accessory of an item corresponding to the first result. 18. A tangible machine-readable storage medium storing instructions that are executable by one or more processors to perform operations comprising: generating a three-dimensional display layout that positions a second result in relation to a first result based on one or more attributes of the first result and one or more attributes of the second result; and causing presentation on a device of a visual user interface display having the three-dimensional display layout based on rendering instructions. 19. The tangible machine-readable storage medium of claim 18 , wherein the three-dimensional display layout positions the first result in a predetermined location and positions one or more second results around the first result. 20. The tangible machine-readable storage medium of claim 19 , wherein the predetermined location is a center of the three-dimensional display layout.
